Indian Women Rushing to Buy Guns After Gang Rape
http://frontpagemag.com/2013/dgreenfield/indian-women-rushing-to-buy-gun...

"Despite vivid denials from all good liberals, it is speculated that guns can stop rapists and murderers by propelling bullets at high speeds through their bodies. The reality-based progressive community however denies that this can work and insists that only good vibes from listening to NPR will work and Bloomberg encourages everyone to fight rape by limiting their intake of large sodas."--By Daniel Greenfield

Do you believe in gun control after reading these news articles? Or, will you report my postings to an editor, call me an extremist, and call for me to be banned because I post too much, or post something that you don't like? Actually, I'm neither a liberal or conservative, or democrat or republican. So please don't try and put into some little box. Thank you. I would say that I support libertarians and those who support the US Constitution. Like Roseanne Barr supports firearms ownership. She even ran for President this past election. But y'all know what, we can certainly discuss news events that are current without calling each other names can't we?

Rather than call me names here at the Athens Banner, would you be happy if a woman or man had a firearm, and saved your wife or daughter or sister or mother or lover, or even just another person, yes, Athens Banner debaters, all life, not just someone that you know, or care about, but all life, from a terrible event like this?

Okay, now it's time for the gun control posters here to start screaming and call me names.

"In response to the highly publicized gang-rape (and subsequent death) of a young Indian woman on a private bus, hundreds of women in Delhi have applied for gun permits for self-defense and protection from predatory men."--BY Palash R. Ghosh | January 06 2013 9:28 AM

India gang-rape victim's friend recounts attack
http://seattletimes.com/html/nationworld/2020062197_apasindiagangrape.html

"Passers-by refused to stop to help a naked, bleeding gang-rape victim after she was dumped from a bus onto a New Delhi street, and police delayed taking her to a hospital for 30 minutes, the woman's male companion said in an interview."--ASHOK SHARMA, January 5, 2013

The words came from this master of peace, Mahatma Gandhi's own mouth, "Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest."

Gandhi saw firsthand the horror defenseless unarmed people must suffer. An unarmed Gandhi was shot down outside the Birla House in Delhi in January of 1948. Gandhi was a wise man with a big influence that was just not big enough.

Draft language of so-called curfew ordinance

Full text of the Use of Public Right-of-Ways ordinance draft is below. Highlight: Would set hours of operation of each Athens-Clarke County "building campus" -- e.g. City Hall, the courthouse and Dougherty Street government building -- at 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Park hours would either be set by the Athens-Clarke County manager or the Mayor and Commission. The ordinance has been derided by members of Occupy Athens and others as seeking to enforce a curfew on public property, thus damaging their First Amendment right to peacably assemble for long-term protests. read more
