Winter backpacking advice?

February 21, 2012

So next week is my official Spring Break.

Yep, the very last week in February is my "Spring" break. I'm not turning my nose up though, I have decided to embrace the early break with a backpacking trip to New Hampshire.

While I am fully outfitted and prepared physically (at least I hope) I do believe I'm lacking on my mental preperation. I've been hiking, camping, and backpacking plenty in my day but never in the snow. Every night we will be camping in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, four or five of the days in backcountry conditions.

I'm curious as if any of the Talks posters have any good advice for this trip to help get me mentally prepared for my Spring Break adventure?

If not, anybody know of some interesting things worth checking out while I'm in New Hampshire? I know we'll be in the Conway area for a bit.

Why doesn't the ATM want my card?

Summary:  Over the past few weeks I've noticed a change to the ATM I visit on West Broad in front of Five Guys. It's a Bank of America ATM and the main reason I like it is because there is only a $2 fee to use it.   Over the past few weeks I've noticed a change to the ATM I visit on West Broad in front of Five Guys. It's a Bank of America ATM and the main reason I like it is because there is only a $2 fee to use it. The last few times I visited the ATM, I put my card in the slot and the ATM immediatley gave me the card back.  I was a little alarmed at first and tried to put the card back in but the screen prompted me to input my PIN number instead. I was able to complete my transaction but it threw me out of my comfort zone. read more
