Mental health issues. Not funny.
posted @ Saturday, May 11, 2013 - 13:51@nationalchamp1988: You think that what Sanford did was OK and he should have been elected to public office again because Clinton/Kennedy did what they did? Kind of strange thinking. I would not have voted for him because he has demonstrated that he is not trustworthy. He lied to his staff, his constituents, and his wife. Otherwise, his affair is his own sordid business.
posted @ Wednesday, May 8, 2013 - 09:35Sounds like the guy got PO'd at the bar owner and lunged at him. According to the way I read it the guy knelt down and was spinning the cop's bike tire. If he did not touch the air valve then the bar manager was making an assumption as to what he was doing. Hence, the anger may have been for being falsely accused. If the other guy did grab the woman then kudos to her for not letting him get away with it. If he did not grab her then shame on her.
posted @ Saturday, May 4, 2013 - 12:09WOW! A special teams coordinator. Who would have thought of that? Certainly not Richt. We'll just continue losing those yards when we kickoff. Coaching by committee will never work as well as having a specialist.
posted @ Thursday, April 18, 2013 - 08:14Riding in dim light or after dark? At the very least have all your lights working. Get a highly visible vest, preferably reflective. Hunters are required to wear bright orange so that they have less of a chance of being shot by the careless. These vests have saved many lives. Some drivers are oblivious to bike riders even in bright sunlight. Most riders know this and do what they can to protect themselves by not riding at night or, if they do ride at night, try to make themselves as visible as possible(AVAP). Being AVAP may save your life.
posted @ Friday, March 22, 2013 - 09:26Pre-Big Bang the universe did not have any of the three dimensions nor time(time being defined as a measure of sequential events). This leaves the possibility that an interdimensional rip allowed our universe(matter and energy) to enter this dimension from another. The rip would have been nonsymetrical causing the subatomic particles to group and eventually form protons and neutrons, atoms, molecules(hydrogen), stars, planets, people. This does not discount God or even one native-american belief that a Turtle laid an egg that became the universe. It, also, does not discount the belief that our souls were already occupying this dimension when the rip happened and let all that stuff into it. We have been playing with it since then.
We still have a few billion years to ponder.
A restaurant/bar wants to sell the beer that Matt is making over at Copper Creek. Their customers want to be able to order this fresh beer. Matt wants to sell his product to the restaurant/bar. This can not happen because of stupid regulations. A customer wants to buy a growler of fresh beer to take home from the Copper Creek. Copper Creek wants to sell the customer a growler of beer. This can not happen because of stupid regulations. Our repub state government needs to get the hell out of the way of free enterprise.
posted @ Wednesday, March 20, 2013 - 09:37I had a big, vicious, aggressive dog come into my yard several times. I managed to chase him off twice before he killed my confined small dog although he mauled him pretty good. When I found out who owned the dog I went to his house for a conversation. He actually bragged about how many dogs and cats the brute had killed and how many times he had been in court and received a slap on the wrist. I explained to him that I am from the backwoods of south Georgia and the rule there was that if someone had a free roaming dog that was causing the kind of trouble his was then the authorities were not called. The dog just would not come home one night. He got upset and threatened me if his dog disappeared. I let him know that I was not the least bit worried about his threats. I never saw that dog off leash, again. Some jerks just have to be jerked back.

posted @ Wednesday, February 27, 2013 - 10:20Wouldn't this cause higher unemployment by taking money from the job creators? If so, then our repub government is doing the thing that they have been preaching against. Kinda two faced.

posted @ Saturday, February 2, 2013 - 11:29Bad choice on the part of the clerk. She should have turned this over to the manager who should have asked the parent to take his child and leave. If he refused then police are called and the man and child are banned for up to five years. In Wrightsville not being allowed into the Dollar store could be devastating for some people. Businesses handle situations like this every day without having to result to violence.

The gyro place has a 97 posted next to the door. Their fries are even better if you ask for some seasoning salt on them. That may make them too salty for the feta dressing dip.
posted @ Sunday, January 27, 2013 - 16:44The beatdown would have been worse if the refs hadn't tried so hard to keep it interesting by ignoring flagrant fouls by the losers. I watched the game at a dt bar. The place cleared out at halftime. The game was over in half a beer. With so many great teams in the NCAA how did the BCS allow this joke of a team into a title game. If I had a company that paid megabucks for a commercial that landed in the second half I would be angry at the powers that be for this limp matchup. What an embarrassment. What a waste of hype. What a waste of time.
posted @ Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 11:33The driver had had a few drinks and should not have been driving. Since he did make that bad decision he should have made an attempt to be much more attentive to what he was doing. Crossing into the oncoming lane before turning indicates a lack of awareness. I am praying for the victim. Night drivers please be alert. Night riders please spend a little cash on high visibility vests. Hunters are required to wear them to protect them from the less caring. They have saved many lives.
posted @ Friday, December 21, 2012 - 09:37I have been a Garner fan since he first came to UGA. He recruited some of the top talent in the country and had many defensive linemen do well in the NFL. Most of the guys who were drafted were ready to play with the big boys on day one. He will be hard to replace. McGarity had better be ready to untie the pursestrings.

posted @ Thursday, December 20, 2012 - 08:56The entrepeneural spirit in the USA has been quieted by the high cost of health care. As an independent businessman who has mentored several people wishing to start a business I have seen most of them give up because they could not do without insurance for their families while getting on their feet. That is not a worry in countries with universal healthcare. That is why we are being passed by those so-called socialist countries. People of depth from CEO's to politicians have been trying to make this point for years. Some folks say that universal healthcare will make us a bunch of deadbeats and slaves to the government. I say it will greatly expand our horizons and make more things possible for the average joe and his or her family. Otherwise we stay shackled to the insurance companies and have profiteers in charge of our healthcare.

Full text of the Use of Public Right-of-Ways ordinance draft is below. Highlight: Would set hours of operation of each Athens-Clarke County "building campus" -- e.g. City Hall, the courthouse and Dougherty Street government building -- at 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Park hours would either be set by the Athens-Clarke County manager or the Mayor and Commission. The ordinance has been derided by members of Occupy Athens and others as seeking to enforce a curfew on public property, thus damaging their First Amendment right to peacably assemble for long-term protests. read more
