Give not the slightest bit of compassion or any other form of leniency toward this most despicable person. He clearly knew every inch of the way what he was doing. That he is even still alive is a crime in and of itself.
posted @ Saturday, April 27, 2013 - 07:56Let's hear about some of the incoming freshmen and how they'll eventually contribute. We expect more and better next year and there's no reason to suspect that the move back towards #1. C'mon Clarkson. Years-long habit of inconsistent performance? How many years in a row did you think the gymdogs would stay at the top of the heap.?The new coaching staff has done a good job of rebuilding confidence and that road still has distance to be traveled.

This group of young athletic ladies deserves as much praise and encouragement for rebounding this year as does any UGA team. They've have put Georgia gymnastics back near the top where they've been for so many recent years. Get behind them and support them.

posted @ Tuesday, March 26, 2013 - 08:17What a stunning development. Not only have the "regulars" shown excessive irregularity, but the parade of nitwits like Chris Matthews, Al Sharpton, Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell continue slobbering their wafer thin intelligence to an audience that must be the smallest in TV land. And they're proudly owned by Comcast. Need any more info? Watch 'em some morning and experience the show at it's deepest and finest moments. HeeHaw offered more insight and meaningful coverage of important events.

posted @ Saturday, March 2, 2013 - 09:41Tough "reunion" for some of the older Gymdogs with Jay Clark as competition, but they continue to work hard to prepare for SECs and NCAAs. A good showing against Utah will be important to season ending cred. You've come a long way ladies-don't let up now.

posted @ Tuesday, February 26, 2013 - 17:00@Ugles: As an alcoholic in recovery(29+ years) I most heartily disagree with your assertion that "Drunk college kids should be the least of our concerns in this country". I assure you many will continue alcohol abuse after leaving school, with little or no understanding of the problems they will create for themselves, their families or for others. I do agree with you that the German solution referred to is also probably not the best route, although every individual will need to develop their own individual program to recover.

C'mon folks, get off your butts and at least join in with some congratulation to a young bur ever-improving group. They like recognition just as much as your beloved football team .

posted @ Friday, February 22, 2013 - 16:06Another case of the"bland leading the bland". NBC and it's kissin' cousin MSNBC have lost any and all cred of being a professional news organization.
Give Forrest Gump a mike and he'll improve the coverage (as long as it's not in the person of Tom Hanks).
For those of you who don't "do" the gymdogs, this is a special young gymnast. For those who "do" do the dogs, shame on you for not recognizing her special skills. This is a young team that's bustin' it's you know what to get gymnastics back to where they used to be.

Rep. Regina Quick, R-Athens, was one of two local delegates to score less than an "A+" in the Chamber of Commerce's annual legislative score card. She and I played phone tag Monday when I was reporting the story and I wasn't able to get her comments in a timely fashion. Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more

The committee opted Tuesday night to put off deciding on the ordinance until, at the earliest, its next meeting. Of note: The Athens-Clarke County attorney highlighted that the proposed times are, in essence, placeholders for the commission to change or keep as it pleases.
