Aide out over tape incident

We should be thankful that the aide didn't do harm to the child why did this reach to the newspaper. I don't think this should be in the news there is too much news out there that we never hear about put them in the news.

A-C to trim its services

I am glad the retirement age is 65 but others is able to work much older age. Many people are struggling to pay their property tax because they lost jobs and more people are getting older and not many jobs for older people there are a lot of age discremination going on. Some people have problems with their health and have too people are homeless because of these things all we are doing is hurting so many people because of government's greed.

Man burned while trying to save pet

Ones pets do become part of family that one loves very much. I have 8 cats I don't think a fireman can save all my animals but I know they would try if my place is on fire.

Tethered rottweiler kills woman's puppy

Nother hurts my animals because they are my family I will do anything to protect them. Even though he slash that dogs throat did he love that puppy. When a dog have a taste of blood they are very dangerous at least the dog died instantly he didn't suffer a long time. The dog catcher would have to put that dog to sleep anyways that man just saved the tax payers money to have it done. Don't condemn that man he thought it was the right thing to do.

I don't think its wrong to have chickens I just don't like roosters they chased me when I was little. My grandmother long time ago had a boarding house and she had chickens on hill st. I think those people that complains about them is afraid of them.

Heartfelt effort to save dog

I love cats and dogs I have six cats and three dogs. I did have four dogs I adopted my neighbor dog name Toby I found out my neighbor never did give that dog shots and had dental problem. I saw to it that he had shots and his teeth was taken care of but the vet found out a possible lump maybe cancer. Much later on it became positive he was in pain if that dog had surgery which I could not afford I had the dog put to sleep. The vet said if he had the surgery they would have to cut the jaw to be removed. I hated to lose him he was such a good dog he was an golden retriever.

I was at work when someone came in and told us what happen. Someone turn on the radio and we heard everything. I was surprise because I thought our country was a safe place to live that changed my mind about our own country. Don't blame Bush he wasn't president very long when that happen there is other people who suppose to keep this country safe. We dropped the atomic bomb on Japan did they blame the christians for it.

I live in Clarke county and used to shop at Ingles sometimes only small amount now. I always rounded off the prices but when I shop big twice I notice that the cashier who been there a long time end up making mistakes that cost me $30.00 each time which I can not afford to shop there any more. If I do go I try to scan myself other cashiers do it right.

Blog: Can we please fix the Oscars?

Summary:  Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Winter storm drama

Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved. An officer reported he was driving the woman and infant to another home in Athens. read more
