posted @ Wednesday, June 12, 2013 - 10:46Former Southern Baptist President Bryant Wright recently announced that the church where he is pastor, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, Ga., would stop sponsoring a troop after 13 years. Wright explained that the problem with the new policy is not that it would allow gay Scouts, but that it would not allow Scout masters to counsel those Scouts to "live a life of sexual purity according to Scripture."
The new policy, Wright said, "condones homosexuality as being consistent with the Scout oath of duty to God and moral uprightness."
That part right there is complete justification for the SBC to distance itself from BSA.

We would skateboard, bike, play football; all without a helmet! Then drink straight from the hose, etc. when we were kids. Did any one ever say, "hey! Mr. bare hand, a friend of mine owns a business in another town. This scenario might just answer the question I quoted you on. Here it is:
Hello everyone. I'll get to the facts
* 11/25/09 we repaired a no-start and no pwr window op on a
2002 Ford Expedition. We installed a new battery for the
no-start and two fuses for the pwr windows.
* 3 months later the customer parked in his garage and his
car caught fire and burned his house down.
* Both insurance company hired forensic teams to investigate
the cause of the fire. It was established that the cause of
the fire was definite in that the cause was a faulty cruise
control sw mounted near the master cyl. Our work was cleared
in the forensic process.
* Customers insurance co tried to settle with Ford over this
and Ford put what their insurance called a very low offer on
the table. Now their ins. company is going to sue me through
my insurance co. Their theory is based on us not informing
our customer that there was a recall for the faulty cruise
control sw.
* We are at the stage that our insurance company is telling
their ins company that we had no knowledge of the recall and
we had no reason to read through any recall notices just
because the car came in for a no-start and no pwr windows
and that we did repair the car using accepted repair
diagnoses and repair methods. Ford is asserting that we
should have been the ones to tell the customer about the
recall as it would have red flagged us through our
computerized repair information system. We don't get red
flagged and at the time the repair was done, Our repair
information system did not have recalls listed. That
happened in version 2.5 in 2011 and still does not red flag
a recall, VIN or not. BTW the customer was sent recall
notices on several occasions, He claims he never received
them. These facts are being relayed to their ins. company's
lawyers through my ins company's lawyers.
* The suit amount being claimed is approx 750k because the
owner said he had a baseball memorabilia collection worth
500k. My insurance runs out at 500k. If this goes far enough
the customer will have to provide proof and a recent
appraisal.
So Mr. bare hand, it seems that in this litigious pop culture in which we live, everyone with anything is fair game!

This guy is from Clarksville Tennessee, and he needs to go home. Chances are that jail their is not as nice, the catch and release program is not as lenient, and his ability to hone his shoplifting skills would certainly be curtailed when compared to his government-subsidized shoplifting training program here in Athens Clarke County. I suspect we will be hearing much more from this young man in the days and months to come. And it will be pretty much more of the same.

As a huge Backstreet Boys fan, I was little perplexed on reading Nick Carter?s book. It?s not like reading a book about Elvis Presley or The Beatles. I didn?t live through those moments. I didn?t see them in person. But as someone who has followed Nick?s career since I became a fan in 1998, not just in the Backstreet Boys, but as a solo artist, I?ve always thought we had a lot in common besides being the same age. read more
