When loading or unloading a gun do not point it in the direction of another person, I've found the floor or ground is a much better direction to point the gun. It's also helpful not to put your finger on the trigger unless you are ready to shoot the gun! Guns can go off by accident of course, therefore, you NEVER point it at anyone, ever! Anyone who does not know this should NOT be handling a gun in the first place!posted @ Wednesday, November 21, 2012 - 14:16
How many of those beautiful trees will be cut down so people can walk in the woods? God's untouched beauty is much better than anything man can come up with.posted @ Wednesday, November 21, 2012 - 14:02
I agree things have changed at North Place, not to the extent claimed here however.
There is a Hispanic gang there, mostly young teens doing petty stuff, not too hard to put up with.
You have to consider when you hire thugs and they are going into tenants homes, it's like shopping, you just come back later and get what you want. It's happened. (For Mr. Snodgrass, it's the thugs not the Hispanics they hire.)
There are still the drug dealers and thieves, but the neighborhood looks better for sure. I wonder, in the last week how many times the police department has been called out there? That would be interesting to know.
There are nice, decent, good people who live there also, it is definitely a mixed neighborhood of races and types of people, like most places.posted @ Sunday, October 14, 2012 - 15:23

Nice for Valdosta revenues, too bad for local construction companies, and by the way not all construction companies hire illegals, so please do not lump all of them together.posted @ Wednesday, March 9, 2011 - 11:06
'Most people think like me'... 'I know for a fact that all conservatives agree with me' LOL! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
That is a funny article!
After the last two years honey, we will be crying the blues for many, many, many years to come and pointing fingers and blame, blame, blame Obama for every horrible decision he has made! Get over it! Get use to it! Learn to love it! We had to and now so do you! LOL!
'As a child of pure southern roots I know for a fact that all conservatives agree with me about Hitler and Jesus most folks agree about Social Security too.'
How he/she got Hitler, Jesus Christ and Social Security in the same sentence..?!
Now don't any of you go talking bad about Odumbo, sticks and stones and all that! NOT! LOL!posted @ Friday, January 28, 2011 - 17:37
As all of you know, a Certificate of Live Birth is NOT a Birth Certificate and if you didn't know that, you do now! It's two (2) different documents.
I have my original Birth Certificate that has my mothers thumb print and my foot prints along with her original blue-inked signature along with my father/mother information, i.e., name, place of birth, their parents name, etc.
I have a Certificate of Live Birth which has nothing original on it. It is all reproduced on a document that gives a record of the info on the Birth Certificate, however, it is not a Birth Certificate, but a Certificate of Live Birth. No original signatures or prints of any kind...and can easily be reproduced by anyone anywhere.posted @ Friday, January 28, 2011 - 17:12

Kohl's Department Store/Walmart seems to be the target for many shoplifters, it is a shame the thieves do not read the newspaper, they would know how many get caught stealing there. Then again I wouldn't think many shoplifters would be educated enough to read in the first place! Idiots! Thieves should not get probation, they should go straight to jail or they haven't learned a thing.posted @ Thursday, January 27, 2011 - 14:01
Obama says it's getting better, that's how we know it's getting worse!

@cyou299: You favor punishing U.S. business owners who are struggling in this down economy, okay, you have your opinion. However, why not punish the person who is here illegally? Does the person here illegally not deserve punishment? I bet those who come here and go through the proper channels to become a citizen would disagree.

@The Invisible Hand: Unfairly Blamed? You have to be kidding!!! LOL!
We do not deport non-taxpaying citizens, they go to jail, but illegals just get to go home and find their way back again and again and yet again.
You don't want to blame illegals for draining our economy, jobs and welfare system, but you want to deport citizens of the U.S. because they don't pay their taxes, and I question that half the population doesn't pay taxes, where did you find the figure? Just curious.posted @ Thursday, January 27, 2011 - 10:59

Okay Sonny, I will choose my words wisely! There is a path for immigrants to follow to become a citizen already. It's a path they do not want to make the effort to go through for some unknown reason, but it's their choice to do it or not. I am glad the DREAM ACT failed. Illegal Mexicans - GO HOME! Immigrants are sending all their money back to Mexico anyway, boarder security is a joke. I am all for jumping on the Arizona band wagon. If police are paid to bust people breaking our laws, then they should already be doing immigration status checks when they pull people over, they are here illegally.
Just so some of you will know, when you receive your "Government Check" be it unemployment, or welfare, that money comes from MY pocket, it's not money sitting around that the Government got from any place other than hard working U.S. Citizens who pay taxes and give you free money to sit you your butt and watch TV. In talking with someone the other day, I discovered there are people who do not have enough education or sense to realize this! Amazing! The only money the Government has is OUR Money, ya Dumbos! By OUR, I mean those who WORK! No offense to those who have enough education to know this basic fact already!posted @ Thursday, December 23, 2010 - 10:27
To take advantage of a 94 year old man is is horrible! Imagine his fear, he must have felt helpless. As you get older, whether you are a man or woman, losing the ability to defend yourself is scary even if nothing happens to you.
I have a stun gun in my car, a loaded 357 in my bedroom and I keep my keys by my bed so I can hit the alarm on my car to get the attention of neighbors if someone breaks in my house. I think I'll get that carry permit, and yes, I can shoot with pretty good accuracy from 100 ft. I think I could hit someone standing in my bedroom doorway with no problem. Thank God for 3 sons who hunt and taught their mom how to shoot!
Yes he should be tried as an adult!posted @ Friday, December 10, 2010 - 09:51
Summary: Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved. An officer reported he was driving the woman and infant to another home in Athens. read more
