ABC's "Resurrection" has an Athens connection

@dorpaul: Instead of criticizing what wasn't in the article, why not just ask politely for what information you would like to have, i.e., This is great for this young student. I sure would like to know what scene to watch for. Could you describe it for us. Thanks and good luck.

Epps Bridge Centre developer encourages mixed-drink sales in Oconee

Did I get it right that Mr. Bishop said that liquor by the drink has a positive impact on the quality of life. I remember when Athens didn't have liquor by the drink or even by the bottle. In my humble opinion I would said that it has not improved the qualify of life in Athens.

Oconee man pushes for more prostate cancer awareness

"Methods thought to help prevent prostate cancer include taking Vitamin D, reducing fats, eliminating fried foods and sugars, eating a plant-based diet and taking the anti-inflammatory Zyflamend"

I don/t believe most men would embrace the suggested plant-based (vegan) diet that is recommended in the above sidebar to the article. .

Elbert County reopens old murder files; makes arrest in 12 year old case
reality chk -

@Big John: You are correct. Just a little irritating that Sheriff Andrews is huffing and puffing like he solved this case when in all actuality it has been "solved" for over three years and sitting on the previous DA's desk. For some reason, the past DA just chose to let the case lie. Pun intended.
Well, I don't know Sheriff Andrews and don't live in his county, but if what I read is correct, then he should be given credit for for getting the arrest. If he hadn't spurred it on, it might has stayed "unsolved".

Blog: Can we please fix the Oscars?

Summary:  Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved.
