"What kind of man who has never worn the uniform attacks an honorably discharged combat veteran for acting to protect the lives of his soldiers?" Edson said in a statement to The Huffington Post. "A desperate man and apparently the same kind of man who calls a decorated combat veteran a coward, gets into drunken bar fights, verbally assaults police officers and then uses his family's connections to get out of trouble. Patrick Murphy is a spoiled brat and a truly terrible person."

I am a huge proponent of the 10th Amendment. And as such, would take notice if the NTSB were demanding under threat "law" that the States abide by it's principles. However, I have no problem at all with this agency recommending to the State Assemblies that they do it themselves.
If you think other actions should be legislated by the state, then by all means, start a thread so we can discuss it.
Personally, I have witnessed more than my share of friends and family killed or disfigured due to this stupid choice to drink and drive.
This thread is about DUI, and I fully support making the threshold for DUI smaller. I also support making Per Se DUI a FELONY on the first offense.
For the record, I don't care if people drink. but don't be stupid about it!

You mean the cuts that were in the budget that NEVER PASSED because of Harry Reid's obstructionism? Forcing the sequestrations that OBAMA AUTHORED?
Hmmmmm,
So since the GOP members didn't agree with DNC members on a budget that was NEVER PASSED. And Obama wrote the rules for sequestration playbook, then this is the GOP's fault?
RIIIIIGGGGGHHHHTTTTT....
Oh, So what did those nasty Republicans do to obstruct the troops that WERE their from coming to the rescue? Did the Republicans issue the Stand Down order?
Did the Republicans order the F-16's that were 2 hours away not to respond?
Did the Republicans decide what the allocation of resources were for security?
Did the Republicans decide to lie about some youtube film?
Did the Republicans lie about emails regarding Embassy security concerns on the 9/11 anniversary?
Did the Republicans say "What difference does it make" during a congressional investigation regarding the loss of Four Americans in an Embassy terrorist attack...to include an Ambassador?
I swear, If Obama decreed that all men of Canadian descent were to be forced into interment camps, and Republicans told him "Uh, No your not", you would cry that the GOP was obstructing.
I know this whole "Separation of powers" thing is a difficult concept for Liberals when their "Messiah" just wants to "Rule", but I for one am glad they are there!

Have a look..
posted @ Tuesday, May 14, 2013 - 17:44
hjfedrick - Unemployment was not high
Nor was it under President Bush. In fact, even though Clinton had a much better econominc environment thanks to the DOT,COM boom, His average was around 5.3, the SAME average as President Bush.
Not so much for Obama though....(Can you say CRASH?)
hjfedrick - There were no bank failures during Clinton's term
You're right, but Clinton put them into motion when he signed the Riegle-Neal Interstate Banking and Branching Efficiency Act of 1994.
Never heard of it? Color me surprised. What it did was create the so called "Too Big to Fail" banks that all of these lollipop liberals like to blame on President Bush.
It was also the Clinton administration that pressured Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac to reduce the lending standards to high risk borrowers. It was this period of time that these lending institutions, unable to keep up with the amount of debt that these non paying, high risk borrowers, started complaining to Franklin Raines. His solution?
Create a market for bad debt! He started forcing these lenders to roll as much of their bad loans into "lots", and sell them as "Sub-prime mortgages"
The ball starts rolling toward catastrophe...under Bill Clinton's policies
hjfedrick - So what would have been Bush's reason for blaming Clinton for his own failures.
Except....they weren't President Bush's failures. They belong to Clinton!
IN FACT
President Bush tried to WARN Congress about the future costs of the sub prime mortgage ponzi scheme.
Fannie Mae ignored the warnings
Congress ignored the warnings
President Bush CONTINUED to warn Congress..
(Did you know that as an Acorn Lawyer, Obama was involved in a lawsuit that forced Citibank to make bad loans? Can you say "Contributing to the problem?")
hjfedrick - Obama never blame Bush as a person
As I recall, when I was deployed for Operation Southern Watch in 1998, Bill Clinton was my Commander in Chief!
He also ordered military action against Afghanistan and Sudan in 1998.
Do the Kosovo Wars mean anything to you?
Do the names Master Sergeant Gary Gordon and Sergeant First Class Randy Shughart ring a bell? They posthumously received the Medal of Honor for their actions in Mogadishu.
Maybe you've heard of that?

The voter expanded the Constitution without a Constitutional amendment which goes against the fundamental structure of our Constitution.
Nope, the vote AMENDED the Constitution of the Sovereign State of Louisiana. Not the US Constitution. (You DO know that each State of our Republic has it's own State Charter, or State Constitution, Don't you?? I really don't want you to be confused on that very significant point)
Therefor, the Constitutional LAW in the Sovereign State of Louisiana was correctly interpreted by this Judge.
Were I you,I would erase "Mother Jones" from my bookmarks. They are showing their bias. Give the article from The Times-Picayune a shot. It is much more detailed in the important points, It is a local media source, so I would surmise it is MUCH more in tune to the truth, and less "False Flag" in it's headline writing. (Do you recognize the difference between the headline you and Mother Jones put up, and the one that The Times-Picayune put up?)
Read what the Judge ACTUALLY did, and any unbiased entity will see what TMother Jones attempted to do.
If you want to actually have a discussion on what happened in Louisiana, Then ask folks what they think about the Constitutional Amendment, and the Judges interpretation of it. Or, put a reputable news article up about it, and let folks comment.
If you want to argue your own biases, then continue your status quo of throwing out salacious headlines, and half truth stories from known sources of liberal gossip, and not news. Then put words into peoples mouths, such as:
avenger - So you are for felons who commit violent gun crimes the right to guns, huh? Good to know.

nancy30683 - As far as the IRS scandal is concerned, the total abuse of power here is frightening. Even more frightening is the fact that this agency will be enforcing the health care law. One has to wonder just how intrusive they will become into individual Americans private lives, possibly justifying such intrusiveness as "enforcement".
This bears repeating!

Good for him.
Here is an ACTUAL news article of what went down in LA, and why, Not some biased "Motherjones" or "Thinkprogress" story
http://www.nola.com/crime/index.ssf/2013/03/new_orleans_judge_rules_statut.html
He ruled on the merits of the Constitution!
He is not trying to legislate from the bench, and in fact offered prosecutors a window to re-charge the subject. He gave a ruling based upon the law, as written. And to be honest, I agree with him!
That said, there is no logical reason that felons, once free from all probation or parole, should not be able to reassert their right to keep and bear arms.
Now there can certainly be an argument about which felons should qualify for parole...but that is a different subject!

What about Reagan, didn't he say that he knew nothing about the Iran-Contra issue. If that was the case then why did top level officials on his staff go to prison. Didn't those arms go to Iraq so they could start a fight with Iran. It seems to me that we were the ones that put Sadaam in power and those same weapons are being used on us today.
What about Bush Sr. didn't he state during the time that Iraq attacked Kuwait that we needed to go there not because Iraq posses WMD, but because they were killing innocence people. Bush even had one of the female members of the royal family to tell the american people that Iraqis were pulling babies out of hospitals. How true was that.
And what about George W. do we really need to go into details and his statement to the american people on Iraq.
