@CharlotteLadyGardner:
I am sure that if you start some type of fundraiser you could get help.
Let him go back to another bar get drunk and run over someone else???????? I THINK NOT. Mama needs to let him stand on his own 2 feet and stop talking for him. Better yet make him sit behind a glass wall and see everything that poor Emily and her family goes through everyday.

the man has passed away, he isn't here to defend himself. Sometimes it is best to say nothing to keep from showing what kind of person you are.

posted @ Thursday, April 4, 2013 - 15:21I spent the first 34 years of my life in Oconee Co. Go to Oconee Co. 3-4 times a week to visit my father who is in a nursing home in Oconee Co. ( now that is a business). Hate the trip from MADISON Co. (been living in Madison Co. for 28 years) to High Shoals because of the traffic around Connector. Anonymous Dude whether you want to face it or not Oconee County is getting a lot of Clarke Co. businesses, UGA is the only thing that keeps Clarke Co. ahead of Oconee co. I can say this because I am a business owner in Clarke Co. All I have to say is Go Oconee Co.

If they didn't the jail would not hold them all and there would be know where to put the violent offenders. As a business own who works closely with the police we see the repeat offenders every day. These people will never learn or should I say they are too lazy to do it the hard way like some of us choose to. Life is a choice.

posted @ Friday, April 15, 2011 - 17:10As some one said earlier if you are tried of reading and hearing about this terrible loss we are all going through then do not pick up a paper and for God sakes don't keep going back to re read and re read what you say you are so tired of reading. Most people that don't want to read somthing doesn't keep reading it over and over again. This is my last statement on this because you don't seem to have feeling for anyone but yourself or your family. Sounds like you might be one of those people Tony and Buddy were trying to protect Athens from.

posted @ Friday, April 8, 2011 - 18:08Bereaved citizen, I am so sorry for your family's loss and so sorry that your family didn't have enough friends who cared enough to raise money for your sisters family, that said let me say. As someone who knew Buddy and knew how he dedicated his life to protect everyone in Athens, even the sorry scum like the one who took him away from his wonderful family I know that he is in a completely better place than we are. Statements like what you made only proves that. Melissa I am so sorry for the loss you fill everyday. To Buddy's parents I can not imagine loosing a child because of an sensless act. To his brother my deepest sympathy. To everyone mention above and to all the wonderful ACCPD officers I would like to say.....well don't think there is anything you can say for Bereaved citizen but OMG

Rep. Regina Quick, R-Athens, was one of two local delegates to score less than an "A+" in the Chamber of Commerce's annual legislative score card. She and I played phone tag Monday when I was reporting the story and I wasn't able to get her comments in a timely fashion. Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more

The committee opted Tuesday night to put off deciding on the ordinance until, at the earliest, its next meeting. Of note: The Athens-Clarke County attorney highlighted that the proposed times are, in essence, placeholders for the commission to change or keep as it pleases.
