Murdered Athens man leaves rich legacy

I read each and every comment. My grandfather didn't deserve this, and we really appreciate the support. Its hasn't been 2 month since I've returned from my deployment. My grandparents were terrified of me being in Afghanistan and it was understandable. I had to call or email to reassure them I was ok. My grandparents should be safe in their home, we shouldn't have to worry about someone attacking them. Now I have to go to bed every night knowing I couldn't protect him and he wasn't ok. Someone took my grandfather from us. So please, please if anyone has information contact the police.

I didn?t see them in person. But as someone who has followed Nick?s career since I became a fan in 1998, not just in the Backstreet Boys, but as a solo artist, I?ve always thought we had a lot in common besides being the same age. read more

Links to Banner-Herald's award-winning sports stories

The Athens Banner-Herald sports staff combined to win 11 individual awards on Sunday at the Georgia Sports Writers Association's annual meeting in Marietta. You can get a few more details on that in this story ? "Banner-Herald sports staff wins 11 awards" ? and I thought I'd provide some links to the winning stories for the curious. The awards were for the sports staff's work in 2012. read more
