@AF Redux: Well reflux, has nothing to do with free speech, no one is loosing their job etc..
If this had been Fox you and the left be screaming how racist it was etc..
That good old liberal double standard..
See Acid Reflux, it's the double standard..
It that had been someone on Fox saying the same you and the left would be screaming how racist it is etc..
David you know that to be rich and conservative is bad and evil.. But to be rich and liberal makes you a saint and above reproach..
You must have missed that memo..

They believe it is foul play and nothing is going to tell them other wise..
and honestly, if this was a white kid or just about any other race no one would have made this big of a deal about it.. Not to say it is not tragic in the lest just this has nothing to do with justice and more to do with race..posted @ Saturday, December 21, 2013 - 20:54
keepitsimple - I just wish people would read the interview with an open mind. Most haven't read it just the points from the talking heads. Some rely only on cute little pics posted by their friends made from hand picked words from the original article.
This goes for both the left and the right side of the spectrum.
For one I have read it..
He said nothing hateful about anyone. he did not single out anyone group etc..
As a matter of fact to paraphrase he said you should love anyone and try and show them the right way..
What I do not get is why the drunks, adulterers and others he mentioned in the same sentence are not getting all bent out of shape..
People who are commented on this really need to read what he said, not just take what the media gives you..
And he said nothing hateful about any of them..

As I have said in other threads all day today, the A&E network is within its rights to do what they did. The fans of the show may or may not make the network pay for their choice, time will tell. The Dixie Chicks didn't have their main audience on their side when they said what they said, so, they suffered. Mr. Phil seems to have millions on his side, so, he will likely come out of this stronger than he is now. Mr. Phil and the Dixie Chicks both had the right to say what they said, but, they must deal with the consequences of that choice.
BTW, I know that Mr. AF Redux saw my other posts so, he seems to be a dishonest person.
Thanks for saying what I was thinking..posted @ Saturday, December 21, 2013 - 10:31

@avenger: What is racist about it.. ???
They where both Caucasoid therefore white..
You see racism when there is none.. And I would love to see you address some of the crap MSNBC throws out there.. Like the word "Obamacare is racist" or the comment that " only whites can be racist" and that is just the tip of it..posted @ Tuesday, December 17, 2013 - 13:06
First an elected official works for the tax payer.. A corporate CEO is in the private sector and is in the business of making money. So those are two different things.
Second how many MILLIONS have Presidents made after they leave office, for speaking
Clinton has made over 89 million. up to 750K for speaking at ONE event.. ( BTW this is a perk of being president, plus free health care for life etc.. )
I do not care what side of the political fence they come from I stand by what I said.
And since you brought up Romney and his wealth..
Among the wealthiest presidents to occupy the White House are:
John F. Kennedy (D): $20 million ($124 million today)
The Kennedy Trust: $400 million ($2.6 billion today)
Lyndon Johnson (D): $14 million ($82 million today)
Herbert Hoover (R): $8 million ($88 million today)
Franklin Roosevelt (D): $1 million ($11 million today)
In the 2004 presidential election, the order of wealth, starting with the wealthiest, was as follows:
1) John Kerry (D): Billionaire ($1.2 -$ 3.3 billion!) - includes Heinz Ketchup fortune
2) John Edwards (D): Millionaire ($70 million)
3) Dick Cheney (R): Millionaire ($50 million)
4) George W. Bush (R): Millionaire ($15 million)
Let me point out that Kerry's wealth is more than Edwards. Cheney, and Bush's combined..

What did you think of those figures I posted? Three-million-two-hundred-thousand dollars for Obama's service to the country. You okay with that?
Nope, I think any elected official should make at maximum the average salary of what the people he/she represents makes.
With all the perks POTUS has his salary is well over a million a year.. Then what about all the perks he gets after he leaves office. Like 24/7 Secret Service protection etc..
They are suppose to be working for us.. Not getting rich.
Farmer GA - I have yet to understand what the income of that guy over there has to do with my life. If he make $1million +/year, good for him. I don't waste my time worrying about what "that guy" has in his pockets.
I wonder why the left does not [filtered word] about what public colleges pay presidents.??
Figures from 2011 show that several public college presidents made over a million a years..
And as of 2013 according to ABC news Penn State president made 2.9 million..
But again you do not hear the wailing from the left on them..
Let me add the UGA president makes over 450K a year making him the 4th highest paid college president in Ga..posted @ Monday, December 16, 2013 - 19:40
Caucasoid: Europe, West Asia and North Africa.
Mongoloid: East Asia, Oceania, the Arctic and the Americas.
Negroid: Sub-Saharan Africa.
Capoid: Southern Africa.
Australoid: Australia and Melanesia.
So since both Jesus and Santa come for Europe, and North Africa yes they are "white" or Caucasoid..posted @ Monday, December 16, 2013 - 13:37

Colorado law specifically forbids discrimination against customers based on sexual orientation. If you open a business, you must comply with the law. If I claim that I'm a Rastafarian and walk around on College Square smoking marijuana, do you think I should be exempted from arrest?
I don't know if Oregon law forbids discrimination on the basis of being a police officer or not, if it does, the officer would have a case and he would prevail in the courtroom. Seems to me that he wasn't inclined to do so, though.
Why do you spend so much of your time looking for things to be offended by? Afflictive emotions suck the quality out of life.
So Colorado has pasted a law that breaks the first amendment.. So much for that whole separation of church and state thing..
Why do you spend so much time going around and disagreeing with every thing I say.. ??

Summary: Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved. An officer reported he was driving the woman and infant to another home in Athens. read more
