State regulators debate charging the poor for phones

Enough handouts to the "poor," already. It's maddening as hell to be behind someone in a grocery line who pays for top-of-the-line food items with an EBT card, while I have to economize and buy generic brands. America has become a sick, sick society, where 1/2 of the population works hard so the other half doesn't have to. It's just WRONG.

If all else fails, play the race card.... but how will Sharpton and J. Jackson be able to this spin this as evil white racism?

Gainesville Symphony Orchestra to shut down

Gainesville's demographics doomed its symphony. Bach and Beethoven would be a hard sell to a mariachi and hip-hop crowd.

Brunswick woman says she's certain suspect shot her baby

@fishin4u:

You have exactly expressed my sentiments. Had this been a black baby killed by two white teens, Sharpton and J. Jackson would have tripped over themselves getting involved. And furthermore, why is there no mention of this murder by the major propaganda news networks the way they raised the roof over the Trayvon Martin case?

Athens Area Black History Committee to host first Black History Bowl

Black History Month, formerly known as February, seems to be nothing more than an endless search for relevance in a sea of achievements by other people of surprisingly monochromatic color.

2nd suspect charged in delivery of drugs to dead Winder teen

Ick. Ick. To think that my children used to sit next to such trash in public school classrooms before we very wisely switched over to private schooling. No doubt, young Terry James is covered in tatoos, smokes, and was raised by a single mother and her 4th long-term boyfriend.

Man allegedly threatens woman hours after his arrest in Athens for assaulting her

What a fall from grace for poor Denzell Omar. Unless I'm very much mistaken, he was valedictorian AND star student of his graduating class at a very prestigious local private school, and is home on spring break from Stanford, where he is purusing a triple degree in quantum physics,differential calculus,and French Renaissance literature.

Study: Welfare programs discourage work, marriage

Welfare has gone from being a safety net to being a hammock for many. We are a sick society for rewarding people who choose to be societal parasites. The rise in the number of freeloading single welfare mothers is the biggest threat to American society.

Out of prison two months, Athens man back in for home invasion

Just think how pleasant American society could be if people didn't have to constantly fear for their safety because of pieces of dirt like Allen Donnell Morse et al., ....and just think of how improved society could be if it didn't have to spend its resources on this type of criminal parasite. Let's hope he doesn't reproduce himself.
