"Who knows? Maybe I’ll run into George W. there. He would certainly be a sight for sore eyes."
Yeah, the sight of him certainly makes my eyes sore.
Other than the last sentence I really enjoyed this article.... even the other parts about George W..

You're a very difficult person with which to have a discussion....
You informed me that zfacts.com was a Republican leaning website. I gave you some quotes from their "about" pages that showed their opinion, if leaning Republican, also had tones of some from the left (or middle). You call me a closet "liberal" as if that's a bad word to me. If you can call me a liberal it's only because the conservatives have gone so kooky to the right that the spectrum is skewed. I like zfacts because they don't seem to have an agenda.
posted @ Sunday, April 8, 2012 - 09:09
RightWingExtremist - Were you aware the link you posted to begin with was a Republican leaning website?
I didn't think so.
It leans both ways, kind of like me.
As an example, from http://zfacts.com/node/141
"At heart, I’m a scientist; that means I’m a skeptic. I don’t trust easy answers especially from politicians. I also don’t trust extremists, either left or right."
and regarding global warming:
"I'm stil a skeptic. Climate science is still unsettled. But we know one thing for sure, there's a 50/50 chance, more or less, that it's going to be bad. That's all we need to know right now. It's idiotic to take that kind of a risk with our only planet and do nothing."
and the debt:
"My next focus is the $12 trillion dollar Republican debt. Blaming that on the Dems or Obama is the biggest political lie of my lifetime."
Okay, that's it... I'm done... At least for tonight.
I glanced at your biased links and quickly lost interest when I saw they were discussing a 75 year time period.
I do still take issue with your statement "Obama has left future generations with hundreds of trillions of unfunded SS and Medicare liabilities".
Even IF your numbers are correct, pinning the blame all on Obama is so ridiculous that it really doesn't merit discussion.
Besides, these comments have strayed pretty far off the topic of the associated article, hence I'll take some initiative and stray away myself from this discussion....
Good day.

Can you say "recession"? A pretty bad one at that? Government revenue usually falls pretty substantially during those things.
Oh, and "hundreds of trillions"?

Um, it's called "adultery."
Yeah, good point. They should've fined both Clinton AND Gingrich for their misdemeanors and then got on with America's business.
posted @ Saturday, April 7, 2012 - 18:19
RightWingExtremist - As are all liberals like you, you lie through your teeth. Constantly. Obama has left future generations with hundreds of trillions of unfunded SS and Medicare liabilities, not to mention 17 trillion more with Obamacare.
I'm not sure how you can say such things as:
1) "liberals like you" - my record over the years has been somewhat moderate, but more liberal in recent years
2) "you lie through your teeth" - how do you know if I even have any teeth?
3) "hundreds of trillions" - where do you get such numbers?

posted @ Saturday, April 7, 2012 - 10:44Clinton ruined his legacy with his Monica fling. But there wasn't anything illegal about it until he lied under oath when asked a question that he probably shouldn't have been asked. The American public didn't really care much about it, but the Republicans played politics with it. It was a real waste of time.
As for Barack Obama.... I just don't see what all you righties think that he is doing that's all that bad. He didn't cause this recession. And even before he took office, economists were saying it was going to be a bad one... that the problems weren't easily fixable.... but things ARE getting better now.
As for me... yeah, I'm to the left of things.... but I really didn't have much of a beef with Mr. Bush until he decided to go to war in Iraq... and then he decided that the home front didn't need to sacrifice much to fight the war. He left it to future generations to pay the bills. Then McCain made a particularly poor choice with his VP selection... heck, who ya gonna vote for?
And then Republicans have done nothing the last several years except say everything Obama does is bad, but now it looks like they're nominating a moderate that signed into law the model for Obamacare, but isn't that what they were trying to run against? So, let's change President in mid-stream, er, uh, why?
Okay, bedtime for me now.... but I gave you righties something to chew on overnight.
Happy Easter.

Give me a break.... the President has to deal with a lot more than the economy and so the candidates should also have a wider focus.
Besides, remember, government doesn't create jobs....

Over the past few weeks I've noticed a change to the ATM I visit on West Broad in front of Five Guys. It's a Bank of America ATM and the main reason I like it is because there is only a $2 fee to use it. The last few times I visited the ATM, I put my card in the slot and the ATM immediatley gave me the card back. I was a little alarmed at first and tried to put the card back in but the screen prompted me to input my PIN number instead. I was able to complete my transaction but it threw me out of my comfort zone. read more
