Maybe if the press had done a little work instead of cheerleading, this might not have happened

posted @ Friday, May 17, 2013 - 14:26Mr Martin is just going to hurt someone's feelings and lower their self esteem. The dumbing down of our educational system has dumbed down the population. We teach to the lowest level and are then surprised with the results. The schools are not a replacement for good parenting and support but we have made the educators take on problems that are outside of the teaching.
That and the fact that no one is responsible for their own actions...

posted @ Wednesday, May 15, 2013 - 16:28The IRS is not to take sides and treat everyone according to the law. Any thing less than that is wrong. This abuse is the crucial issue and nothing else.

posted @ Tuesday, May 14, 2013 - 11:51A breach of our first constitutional right is just scary. If the government can break one, they will break all of them. Amazing the first 10 state what the government can't do and after that, they all give the government more power

posted @ Monday, May 13, 2013 - 08:49This is a cold, hard fact and should have everyone scared. Remember that a government big enough to give you everything is a government big enough to take everything. Can't believe their is not more outrage about this from all sides. I know this is nothing new but that doesn't make it any less wrong.

Full text of the Use of Public Right-of-Ways ordinance draft is below. Highlight: Would set hours of operation of each Athens-Clarke County "building campus" -- e.g. City Hall, the courthouse and Dougherty Street government building -- at 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Park hours would either be set by the Athens-Clarke County manager or the Mayor and Commission. The ordinance has been derided by members of Occupy Athens and others as seeking to enforce a curfew on public property, thus damaging their First Amendment right to peacably assemble for long-term protests. read more
