Are the clients self-identifying as receiving services from Advantage? It would be a major violation of confidentiality if everyone who receives services from ABH is automatically put into the system...

Ideas:
1. Start teaching ALL children appropriate boundaries by our actions and our words.
2. Stop making violence look like fun--video games etc@E.J.:
3. When children are abused, believe them and insist that they get help.
4. When you notice controlling behavior, talk about and seek help if needed.
5. Model healthy non-violent, controlling relationships.

These are just a few ideas....

Let's teach the guys not to rape instead of expecting women to stay away from "the wrong kind of guys."

By making that statement, you ARE blaming her. @E.J.:

Oh yay! Soft benefits!! So pretty much all this work was done, lots of people supported benefits for domestic partners, most of our peer institutions are already doing this, UGA could have done this for minimal cost (as per a previous article), yet we STILL won't offer benefits to domestic partners??? Awesome.

Smart woman! 8 male roommates was a great response. I'm glad she got away and trusted her instincts.

They need to include mental health providers in their Athens location. People have to drive almost an hour to access mental health providers if on Kaiser and wish to use their health insurance to pay for therapy or psychiatric care.

I'm going to "report" your quote in hopes that someone will block the comments. The last time this happened, I contacted multiple people at the ABH and the comments did not get blocked for several days.
crackerjack - Comments not blocked for a rape article.........
@CharlotteLadyGardner: Thanks! If she's from Woodstock, there are likely lots of students who know her. Sending love and hopeful thoughts her way.

Hwy 211 also known as Bethlehem Road in that area. Take 316 to 211 and turn left (from Athens)-- you'll see it on the right. Smile @catman:

Qualified workers are quick to leave DFCS because the workers often can't see the good that they are doing. In addition, the standards are constantly changing which makes it hard to retain quality workers. There are some pretty terrible supervisors which can add to the stress.

    Blog: Watching movies by myself

Summary:  I'm not saying it's lonely to be a movie critic, but we often find ourselves seated alone in an empty theatre when we're watching new stuff. I know people who say they won't go see anything unless they have at least one other person to go with, but I've always enjoyed having the place to myself. No cartoons on racism

As you might imagine, the vast majority of the editorial cartoons available these days for publication through the syndicate which supplies cartoons to the Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens are addressing the situation in Ferguson, Mo., where the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white police officer has touched off a number of demonstrations -- some peaceful, but many not at all peaceful, with tear gas fired by police officers and gunshots fired by some protester. read more
