Goodell suggests ditching the PAT kick

Maybe they could add clowns, car washes for the dirtiest care in the lot and some other bush league crap. The game is fine. Leave it alone. The near 100% accuracy draws greater attention to when a missed PAT screws someone. The 2-point option is there for those willing to risk it.

Black and white Athens' churches combine congregations, see King's "dream" come to life

People involve themselves in churches where they are comfortable with their surroundings. Most of that boils down to traditions, musical preferences, doctrinal beliefs, family, etc... The outreach between these two churches is a great way to promote unity. There's no problem if they don't worship together every week, but that they respect and understand one another and are working to promote a positive relationship. It's a model that everyone should embrace.

Mayor: Christie aides tied Sandy funds to project

Many thanks to the libtards for the body blows on the blustering RINO from Joysey. A couple of more scandals and he might have enough street cred to flip to the Dems and run in the primaries against Hillary.

UGA cornerback Wiggins arrested

Well, at least we know that our D'backs can catch a misdemeanor. The Auburn game proved they can't catch a football thrown by the opposing quarterback.

Dozens arrested for being gay in Nigeria

Interesting. The Democrats keep telling us that the Republicans are waging a war on gays and women. Turns out it's Nigeria.

Grantham reportedly leaving Georgia for Louisville

Any candidates being mentioned? No tears shed for Grantham. Refused to adapt his defense to the wealth of talent he had. For the most part, we had to get ripped for the first two quarters before any adjustments were ever made. Who can forget his mature "choke" signal at Florida a few years ago. The guy is just a horses ass. The expectations for defense are much lower at Louisville. Maybe they'll be satisfied with giving up 30+ points/game.

McFeatters: How to be a better 'we the people'

We should try to resist pouring vituperation on Obamacare until it is implemented and we find out if it works.

This may be the best line of 2013 after "if you like your insurance and your doctor you can keep them". I think we've discovered what most knew from its inception. It doesn't work.

Numbers offer complicated story of health care law

81: Percentage of young Democrats who approve of the Affordable Care Act, according to December poll by Harvard's Institute of Politics.

58: Percentage of young Democrats who approve of "Obamacare," which is the same thing.

81% of young Democrats are idiots.

Johnson: Faith, politics and 'War on Christmas'

I believe the key assault on Christmas is a secular shift in which the spiritual tenets of the holiday are gradually being lost.

I think you just made the point for the war on Christmas. Good work.

Athens cop kicks in door to save assault victim

@yeti: Thanks for reading. I wasn't attempting humor, as much as suggesting to Joe Johnson that there's likely another angle of this story to follow. These kinds of cases are often ordered to be supervised by probation or some court staff while awaiting trial. Wondered if this was the case here and if lots more of these folks are walking around in violation of court orders that could lead to disastrous results.

Athens cop kicks in door to save assault victim

Was anyone in the court system supposed to monitor his compliance with the bond conditions? Any information on if he was being drug tested or attending the required counseling?

Blog: Can we please fix the Oscars?

Summary:  Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Winter storm drama

Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved.
