Athens criminals make 'Most Wanted' list for multiple reasons

Are there rewards for these roaches' capture? They should've included those in the story as well.

Bethel Homes. The gift to Athens that just keeps on giving. That place needs to be torn down yesterday.

Williams' comments upset, motivate teammates

Glad to see that some one on that defense is not okay with just being on the field at a major college. Williams probably shouldn't have put his two teammates on blast like that, but it probably got everybody's attention. It needed to be said. Now maybe they will be out to prove him wrong next week.

WILD ESCAPE: Georgia holds off Kentucky; QB Murray has record night

We're toast. If I were the AD at UGA I would already be in the process of looking for a possible replacement for Richt. This team is just plain bad.

Improving the look of a community is like putting deodorant on a pig. The only way to truly and permanently reduce crime is to raise the rent.

Police release sketches of suspects in Atlanta Highway safe heist
FanaticalModerate - Seems like a lot of time and effort (and planning) to steal a safe from a fabric store--how much $ could they possibly have gotten from this heist?
I can just see this doofuses hammering away at this safe for 10 hours straight in some basement only to find 200 bucks in small bills. They'll be the laughing stock of the prison block soon.

Emory University apologizes for anti-Semitism

Another empty apology given after all of the offenders are dead. Great. Why even bother? It's gonna take another 50 years to get an apology out of those who are doing dirt these days. People are scum.

Athens man sentenced to 20 years in prison for November shooting death

If you don't want to be robbed and killed, don't go into the ghetto to buy half a pound of weed. It's not like the he was a victim of a carjacking or home invasion. If you don't want to be eaten by lions, stay out of the jungle. If you are eaten, you really have no one to blame but yourself.

Missing UGA grad found alive and well
Wolfscratch - Ivy Merck & her Family's privacy should be respected, IMO. Very few missing person's investigations end up as miraculously as Ivy's did. The tremendous awareness created and the many Prayers that were sent up is why she is reunited with her very blessed family. It turned out differently than most missing person's cases because most people who go missing are victims of crimes. This woman just left town and didn't tell anyone. She wasn't missing really. Just really inconsiderate.

Missing UGA grad found alive and well

I can relate to her need to get away from it all, but have some plan. Don't just run like hell with no idea how you're going to live in the next few weeks and months. And of course tell someone what you're doing.

Passenger assaults driver of Transit bus
ktk76 - @yeti: Why would you say something in reference to the kid being a future criminal? Lets pray someone instill morals in this kid.
Future? The kid probably already is a criminal. What nursery does he go to? Coming from a monster like this woman, he has to have some sort of genetic predisposition for being bad as well. Unless dfacs takes him, he has no chance. Sad.

Perhaps she really is just off trying to figure things out. If she planned on killing herself, why would she facebook her room mate telling her that she's ok? I think that she's just doing the whole "Into The Wild" thing.

Honey Boo Boo has fans and critics for portrayal of Georgia life

The people who watch this crap are more of an embarrassment than the people who are in the show. At least Honey Boo Boo is getting paid. Sad time in our culture. Hopefully things will turn around, but I kinda doubt it.

Pop Addict Book Review: "Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It" by Nick Carter

As a huge Backstreet Boys fan, I was little perplexed on reading Nick Carter?s book.  It?s not like reading a book about Elvis Presley or The Beatles. I didn?t live through those moments. I didn?t see them in person. But as someone who has followed Nick?s career since I became a fan in 1998, not just in the Backstreet Boys, but as a solo artist, I?ve always thought we had a lot in common besides being the same age. read more

Links to Banner-Herald's award-winning sports stories

The Athens Banner-Herald sports staff combined to win 11 individual awards on Sunday at the Georgia Sports Writers Association's annual meeting in Marietta. You can get a few more details on that in this story ? "Banner-Herald sports staff wins 11 awards" ? and I thought I'd provide some links to the winning stories for the curious.
