@cyou299: Jesus had a father who worked as a carpenter and a mother who stayed home with him. They did not arrive in Egypt expecting a free ride and no trouble from Egyptian authorities. Nice try.

Dems seek political edge in contraception ruling

You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. Liberal attempts to hide abortion behind titles such as "Reproductive Rights", " Pro-choice", and "Women's Health" are not as effective as they once were. Anyone can Google Plan B or Ella and read for themselves, on the drug makers website, that these drugs "may prevent a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus". Or as I like to say, "may abort baby from the mother's body".

Secure the border and then a comprehensive immigration bill will become a possibility. Little kids can just walk right over the border into the U.S. Wonder if Al Qaeda could?

So a judge is not able to make a correct and just decision unless he or she is personally affected by the issue at hand? Shall we now choose which judge will reside upon certain hearings based on the judge's gender or race?

Court: Religious rights trump birth control rule

@mpd0.59: What does any of that have to do with Plan B, Ella, or the Supreme Courts decision?

Court: Religious rights trump birth control rule

@franklingrady: Got it Ruth, but you are wrong. This all went down because "something" is being killed by these drugs/ "healthcare". Something can't be killed unless it is alive. Murder is why this passed. No one is going to bend over and let crazy "Christians" dictate to employees seeking blood transfusions etc. Murder is what they don't want to pay for. Any sane government would agree that forcing people to pay for murder is anti-freedom anti-human.

Court: Religious rights trump birth control rule
Logical - They, wrongly, say the others are abortion aids--which science says they are not.
Cut and pasted from Plan B web site: Plan B One-Step® is one tablet with levonorgestrel, a hormone that has been used in many birth control pills for several decades. Plan B One-Step® contains a higher dose of levonorgestrel than birth control pills, but works in a similar way to prevent pregnancy. It works mainly by stopping the release of an egg from the ovary. It is possible that Plan B One-Step® may also work by preventing fertilization of an egg (the uniting of sperm with the egg) or by preventing attachment (implantation) to the uterus (womb).
Preventing attachment (aborting it from the mother's body) of the fertilized egg (first step of human life) that now has all the genes and sex determined. It's a human being evacuated from it's mother's body, I believe that is an abortion.

Justices: Can't make employers cover contraception

@ponsoldt: Uh, not true. Republicans do not want to pay for anyone to abort their fertilized egg, A.K.A the beginning of every human life. Plan B and Ella do just that. Most of us have no problem providing birth control that blocks the egg from fertilization. Liberals want to school conservatives with science, except when it comes to the first stages of human life.
Bird lays an egg, kid comes along and crushes it. Did the kid just kill a baby bird? Science is such a bummer sometimes Smile

@cyou299: The "fake frothy unicorn" IRS scandal can go both ways. Pull your head out of the sand and be honest. Do you really want to live in a country where the IRS can get away with targeting any group, including liberals, because of political affiliation. It is an outrage and needs to be investigated thoroughly. M***er F***ers pretending they lost two years worth of emails is B.S.

Tip for parents with little ones:
Always put your phone, purse, and wallet in the back seat right next to your child's car seat even when they are not with you.

43 American families lost a child due to vehicle induced heat stroke in 2013. This simple step could save your child's life.

Blog: Can we please fix the Oscars?

Summary:  Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Winter storm drama

Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved. An officer reported he was driving the woman and infant to another home in Athens. read more
