jtsim - Joel, all I can say is that as long as the cat knows it's loved when it is it's time to leave you what more can we ask for. We should all be this blessed when our time is up.
I couldn't agree more.

@jtsim: I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. I've been dealing with medical issues with my 14-year-old cat so I can totally sympathize.

@grove600: AP didn't have a photo available at the time I posted this. A photo just moved over on the wire and I added it just for you. Smile
grove600 - Joel doesn't post as much as you do.
After this week, I won't be posting at all. My contract with the Banner-Herald ends this week. I have a new full time job lined up.

@nowheregirl: Chris White is the director of audience. Andrea is in a different position. I believe she is a community engagement editor now. You can email her at andrea.griffith@onlineathens.com.
I hope this helps.

@theold33: I let Chris know about the outdated blogs several months back. There's nothing else I can do but let him know. Sorry.

@nowheregirl: Honestly, every time I look at his picture, I can't stop laughing. I feel bad since he is ugly because he was abused.
theold33 - I think Joel has even given up.
I haven't gone anywhere. I am being pulled to work more on OnlineAthens and it takes up some of the time I have allotted to contract for the paper. I will try to post more often but I need you guys to spread the word and get others to start reading, commenting and posting discussions, too.

@grove600: In the case of the 2 blogs to your right on Athens Talks, Chris just needs to make a decision to disable that panel to hide the queue since staff blogs are no longer presented that way. I don't even think he even knows that exists. He had very little to do with Athens Talks before taking on his current role. I will mention it to him. It is his call.

I haven't been very happy with Mavericks. Ever since I upgraded to it last year, my iMac won't identify non-Apple devices when I plug them in to it. I hope Yosemite fixes that problem.

I have no idea where you got this idea from... Smile

Are you talking about the staff blogs or the community blogs?
The staff blogs are no longer being updated and blogs are being posted with the rest of the stories.
Community blogs are filled in by members of the community.

Basically... yes.
grove600 - Besides, Joel isn't management. He's a "consultant" making the big bucks. Right Joel?
I am a freelance contractor and have no management authority at all. As for "big bucks," that remains to be seen. Smile

    Blog: Watching movies by myself

Summary:  I'm not saying it's lonely to be a movie critic, but we often find ourselves seated alone in an empty theatre when we're watching new stuff. I know people who say they won't go see anything unless they have at least one other person to go with, but I've always enjoyed having the place to myself. No cartoons on racism

As you might imagine, the vast majority of the editorial cartoons available these days for publication through the syndicate which supplies cartoons to the Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens are addressing the situation in Ferguson, Mo., where the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white police officer has touched off a number of demonstrations -- some peaceful, but many not at all peaceful, with tear gas fired by police officers and gunshots fired by some protester. read more
