johnthebrewer - Thank you Spencer!
I've lived downtown since 2001.
I walk to work at UGA.
I only drove 3,000 miles last year, half of that to see my family in Atlanta.
It has been a major pain in the neck to buy groceries and other staples.
That is about to change. This law will greatly improve my quality of life.
It WILL result in no-automobile residents downtown (ones that CAN afford them) and ACTUALLY reduce traffic and parking problems.
Oh yeah, it will be good for Athens and Athens businesses.
I'd like to buy a used car from you!posted @ Wednesday, May 8, 2013 - 10:18

I think part of the reporting problems are due to the fact that local coroners do not want to report suicides to help the family.............not because they are trying to not do their jobs. Many insurance policies will not pay out on a claim if it is ruled a suicide.......they are closer to the family situation and rule accidental or natural causes to save the family grief/embarassment and $$$$$$.posted @ Sunday, May 5, 2013 - 15:37
gman129 - Losing our bats would mean a major increase in the insect population. This could prove to be a major problem for us. BTW, I wish bats ate fire ants.
I wish they ate privet..agree with jrtank...Where are the environmentalists? This is a terrible situation.
THX1138 - It's really funny to me how people are up in arms about giving this guy a proper burial. I assume that most of you are conservative Christians. I'm pretty sure Jesus said to turn the other cheek which I would interpret as being respectful to your enemies even when they are disrespectful to you. The bottom line is he does deserve a proper burial. I'm not sure why his family doesn't want to bury him in his own country but that's their decision.
I bet you would feel differently if it was your 8 year old son he blew up..or any of the others who lost limbs.posted @ Saturday, May 4, 2013 - 16:23
@Curls: Excellent question to ask. Top administrator positions across the board at every school should be looked into. From UGA to the technical colleges to our local school districts. Do you think our local technical college needs 7 Vice Presidents?posted @ Saturday, May 4, 2013 - 06:26

@Yellow Dog: I agree..Tybee is a unique place. The people that live there are an eclectic bunch, and that is what makes the area so interesting. The outer ends of the beach are the best.posted @ Thursday, May 2, 2013 - 09:11

I am not a landlord, but from what I understand, it takes a mountain of paperwork and a long time to evict someone for whatever reason. Frustrating, at best...but this is a little extreme.posted @ Friday, April 26, 2013 - 16:39
