WHY is he being allowed to coach youth and go to schools??? He is a CONVICTED FELON and was dealing drugs!!! And you want to make him a hero? He is an idiot!

Probably because the parking attendant is not an actual "officer" as the article implies??? From reading the headlines, you would have thought one of the Athens Clarke County Police officers had been hit. Not that it makes a difference, it is still wrong.
posted @ Friday, September 28, 2012 - 08:44I would say that this would be a much more important investment for the ACC Government than red light cameras at Gaines School Road and Barnett Shoals Road. Use the money they plan on using for that on the school bus cameras instead. That would be a great idea!! It would make it a whole lot easier on the police officers to enforce the speed limits in the school zones if they would put them back like they used to be and not as short as they are now. The one at the Old Gaines School where Barrow is now goes from driveway to driveway, where it used to go from McDonald's to the street past Civitan Club Drive. Now, as it is, drivers can slam on the brakes, if they choose to actually slow down, right at the school and speed up at the edge of the building. I guess it does not matter that some parents actually park across the road and walk their child across the street or park down at the shopping center and walk. They are going to have to play chicken anyway.
and you can find the dog's facebook page how?????????? or is it supposed to be a big mystery?
posted @ Monday, September 10, 2012 - 15:56This is so sad and incredibly tragic. Sending prayers to all of the families. What in the world is society coming to ??? and by the way, can someone PLEASE explain to me why a four month old baby, her four year old sister and a six year old child were even at the stupid movie theater for a PG movie at a midnight showing??? Really people???!!!
"two underage operatives were allowed into Flanagan’s at 301 E. Clayton St." Wow, not Flanagan's! I am sure that they have NEVER been caught before! Pardon me while I go laugh hysterically!
“From personal experience, I know that pepper spray has the ability to completely incapacitate a person,” the officer wrote in his report. “Being pepper-sprayed is the most pain I have ever felt in my life, and I consider it a violent assault.”
Wow. Worst pain ever?? I have no words.
She, on the other hand, should be locked away for quite a while. Maybe it will happen in Madison County.

posted @ Wednesday, March 7, 2012 - 11:13I only have three questions. 1. What on earth was she doing out with a 1 year old and a 3 year old at 2am? 2. Why did the dude even have access to her kids? It takes a minute or two to get kids out of car seats. 3. Why did it take so long to report it? All of the alerts on the radio and tv as well as the media coverage was done this morning. That stuff gets put out immediately, but at 11am I hear on my radio the amber alert??? There is a whole lot more to this story than someone is telling.

Not going to happen. You can't sue the State. They have immunity. Just the way it is. Prayers to all involved.
posted @ Saturday, January 7, 2012 - 00:02
carrie - And the DA says..I've not made up my mind about seeking the death penalty yet...another wimp in our judicial system.
Not necessarily. When a DA declares that he will seek the death penalty, a whole lot of processes begin which makes everything more difficult. It is better to let the GBI fully complete their investigation and have everything rock solid, turn it all over to the District Attorney and then let him declare he is seeking the death penalty. Think of Buddy's killer. Our local DA did not declare he was seeking the death penalty immediately. The legal aid death penalty lawyers from Atlanta came anyway and began demanding all kinds of stuff. They were politely told that the death penalty had not been declared and they had to wait. This enabled the prosecution to build a rock solid case. Then, the death penalty was announced. I think that it is a no brainer that the DA will seek the death penalty in this case. It is just sometimes better to do things the right way and not get caught up in what the public wants to hear and do what is best to have the right outcome in the end.

posted @ Friday, October 21, 2011 - 22:32@just don't understand. You very clearly do not know Tony Howard. If you did, you would have never made such a ridiculous statement. Tony's family has always been taken care of and will continue to be taken care of. Even though Tony was badly hurt, he knows that he is still able to hug and kiss his children every single day and he is going to heal. I wish Buddy could do the same and so does Tony. Family takes care of family. Buddy, Tony and the other 230 ACCPD Officers are a big family. They take care of each other. Always have. Always will. It is obvious that it is one you are not a part of or you would not have said something so stupid!!!

Does a five lane road, with a left turn only middle lane count as a divided highway so that stopping for a school bus there is NOT necessary?
No. An example of a divided highway would be GA.316. There is a physical separation. A turn lane is not considered a separation. You have to stop!
