@opinionsarelike: yes a 70 year old can easily get rich by working, say the mines of Kentucky, oil drillling in Tx. I fyou don't like the programs which was sstarted very long ago, cell phones were added much later, then have more strict requirements, you know the regulations which conservatives hate so much other than women's reproductive rights.posted @ Monday, April 8, 2013 - 11:15
@tapedeck: The government doesn't pay for LUXURY phones, smart phones. Just the simplest that can be used for emergencies. But under the conservative theory of life: it is OK to subsidize oil corporations but the poor? die already you taker, even if you are 75 years old. Very very Christian of you.posted @ Monday, April 8, 2013 - 11:12

Ever heard of EXTRAPOLATION? if this genious tells the cops when he started drinking or stop they base the time of stopping the consumption of alcohol at the first time of observation and then determine how much wa in his system at the time he parked the car; he may have been on the way up the absorption scale or on the way down.
But he has only himself to blame for the mess. First by drinking and driving, then submitting to such a test when he was not even under arrest. But this is how criminal are caught so many times, not smart.posted @ Saturday, April 6, 2013 - 17:11
@TeeWee: There also has to be an 20 minute observation prior to a real breath test, in most jurisdictions as to wait for mouth alcohol to disipate. Anyway this man was not under arrest and did not have to submit. He did he lost. One less drunk off the road, furthermore all the cops had to do is way for him to get behind the wheel of his car as I stated before.posted @ Saturday, April 6, 2013 - 12:19
@TeeWee: He was seen behind the wheel of a car: dominion and control is all that is required. + his own stupidity. All the cops had to do is wait until he got behind the wheel of his car AGAIN and then stop him.posted @ Saturday, April 6, 2013 - 12:15

@TeeWee: Face it you hate the Obamas and there is nothing they can do to change YOU.
Funny how you do not mention the cost of 2 unfunded wars. This fact is not going to go away.
Are you upset because you didn't get an invitation?

Rep. Regina Quick, R-Athens, was one of two local delegates to score less than an "A+" in the Chamber of Commerce's annual legislative score card. She and I played phone tag Monday when I was reporting the story and I wasn't able to get her comments in a timely fashion. Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more
The committee opted Tuesday night to put off deciding on the ordinance until, at the earliest, its next meeting. Of note: The Athens-Clarke County attorney highlighted that the proposed times are, in essence, placeholders for the commission to change or keep as it pleases.
