follow the money. It appears someone thought you could teach an old dog new tricks. EHR systems are to expensive for the cost. It appears an administrative person made a health care decision. There is a definite technology gap between physicians depending upon their age. EHR's assume everyone is operating at the same level. There are physicians on staff at ARMC who can't turn their own cell phones on, yet it assumed they can read an instruction manual and remember it. Physicians and IT people should work together before any type of IT system is pushed on them. If a system intimidates or is not user friendly for the Physicians on staff it will not work and never be fully utilized. Someone screwed the pooch on this deal and it was expensive and guess who pays for it in the end!posted @ Sunday, June 15, 2014 - 16:07
he must have been wearing them pants on the ground and spilled some gasoline. You can't fix stupid. This is one stupid "gangsta". I will give the PD some credit on this one. They waited until he was treated at the hospital to charge and arrest him. That wait probably save the county several thousand dollars.posted @ Friday, June 13, 2014 - 09:06

this news is almost as good as the news of Paul Broun not being elected to replace Saxby. Saxby is gone, Broun is gone, Gingrey is gone, Hopefully Kingston will join those of his friends. New Blood on the Hill is always good. The people are letting their wishes be known. Now if everyone of the others would be replaced and we had a clean sweep. I believe it is time to just start over with a whole new crew on "The Hill".posted @ Wednesday, June 11, 2014 - 14:18

Paul Broun is an idiot. Broun discussing the constitution is like a toddler flying the space shuttle. A toddler would do a better job on either. Broun seems to believe his own idiotic statements and that is sad. Name one thing he has done to benefit his constituents. I can't find any. Four marriages and thumping the Bible. I would not trust him shackled to a tree. Most people of a Godly spirit don't have to use God as a crutch. He could be the anti-Christ.posted @ Saturday, October 26, 2013 - 21:15

It could have been cash monies from customers that needed to be deposited to make payroll. Some people still pay cash and just mail a check to IRS and Social Security. I am just glad they caught this POS that stole the money. Maybe his baby's mama can find him now and have him held until the child support is caught up.posted @ Friday, October 25, 2013 - 08:03
He will be a welcomed addition to any place he is incarcerated. He will be someone's little sweetie. He may even get a dose of his own medicine. Reality is sometimes hard to deal with. This young man best take this as a wake up call and realize he just ain't that tough. His mother is to be commended for calling the Police to maybe save a child's life. Family violence and battery happen all to often and should be reported. Battering a 4 year old is inexcusable. I would bet this is something that has been in this family for a long time. Violence is usually learned from others.posted @ Thursday, October 24, 2013 - 08:09

I hope it was a clean shot with not much blood. It is really hard to clean those convenience store floors. Maybe this clerk could be a training officer for some other business in a high crime area.posted @ Wednesday, June 26, 2013 - 07:39
Let's all hope this man is a one term Congressman. He is as dumb as a rock in a plowed field. I personally spent some time in his office with him earlier this year and his primary goal in life is doing good for Doug Collins. Northeast Georgia and its people are the last thing he cares about. Look at his record during his tenure. Another loser serving himself and not the people who elected him.posted @ Friday, May 17, 2013 - 08:14

as many limos that sit around Hotlanta, her and her hubby chose to drive drunk, no sympathy here. She should be glad no one ran over her and her hubby during the stop, or that they did not use a pit manuever to pull them over. It's idiots like this that give bikers a bad name and every safe biker has to pay for these idiots mistakes. I have saw aggressive bikers weaving in and out of traffic just to run red lights. I have heard bikers swearing at driviers for not turning left in front of other drivers. I have had to brake hard to avoid smashing bikers in Athens. There are a lot of idiots on bicycles in Athens, now they are pedaling drunk. If someone had hit this idiot on a bicycle she would be injured seriously, or dead. Someone would have been tagged with vehicular homicide or at least sued for a large sum. Most insurances will settle to avoid court costs.
To the safe bicylist you have my respect and keep on pedaling, you know what a 3500 pound car will do to a 45 pound peice of tubing. To the Policeman who made the arrest, my thanks and keep up the good work.
I would deny bail until trial time. There is a flight risk involved. Let these 2 fine examples of societies failure sit in jail until trail date and give them some things to think about. There is no more sorry an individual who will attack and rob the elderly. Justice should be a tall tree and a short rope for these two.posted @ Thursday, April 18, 2013 - 09:55

The study assumes every state will expand its Medicaid program, but Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal has said the state will not expand the program.
It is the law of the land now regardless of how we feel about it and Governor Deal is going to allow the citizens of the state to pay the taxes to benefit other states and leave about 4 billion on the table. Georgia needs to participate. We will be paying for it anyway why not get some of the benefits? I don't guess ole Nathan has figured a way to get his family involved where they skim off the top of the Medicaid benefits.

Summary: Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved. An officer reported he was driving the woman and infant to another home in Athens. read more
