My husband asked about this when he stopped in today, the worker said they asked OnlineAthens not to say anything. Good job there. He said they won't know until next week what is going to happen.

My sister was in Americus GA a few years back when they had a similar situation with several tornadoes. When visited by higher ups (Can't even remember who now), she said they shut down the ONLY usable road for security.....She was not impressed

Actually the Madison Co. one is not a new tax, it is a continuation of a previously existing tax. If it is not approved then property taxes will go up. I prefer supporting the school system with a small tax than raising property taxes!

@mcudab: I agree! I think the worst is at restaurants when people hang their purses off the back of their chair. Then the person is free to steal their wallet but leave the purse and leave the person unaware until it is too late to do anything.

I do feel sorry for this lady though, she did make an effort to hide it. Sneaky teens were probably watching as soon as she showed up!

Bad choice of picture with that title. It would have been a good picture with another article, or even as the smaller picture in this article instead of the main one.

I agree with rcbljc, the teachers have enough to do just coming back from a break, now they can add setting up their classrooms to the meetings, planning, and the like.
