@webbty80: any idea what species that snake was? just wondering
posted @ Wednesday, May 15, 2013 - 13:01@E.J.: practical would be removing and relocating the said snake without calling in help, but alot of people are not able/ willing to try that as it can/is dangerous.
I am a nature nut so many of my posts as I feel rightfully tend to lean towards the conservation of wildlife trust me there is reforestation, exotic invasive plant species, feral populations control, natural biodiversity, etc.. that I (and we should all) try to keep in mind.
posted @ Wednesday, May 15, 2013 - 12:59@bobbidiboo: on the other end of the phone line!! They can send someone to pick up the snake of whatnot..
posted @ Thursday, May 2, 2013 - 09:49I just wonder how much of this is not sensationalized.
posted @ Thursday, May 2, 2013 - 09:46People should not kill animals like this just because it is poisonous. Call the local state park and ask them to come remove and relocate.

Support biodiversity, and while I am on the subject please try and not run animals over. (possums, foxes, frogs, turtles, snakes, & such)

It seemed as though you was under impression that nature naturally placed the plant there..

Marijuana plants are not native to America, please read up on indigenous plant species before you consider any plant to be native.
For the record I don't want it to sound as if I am against controlled organic pot being grown for whatever use (of the 1000s it has)..

It should be legal first of all, but he might as well had rolled one up and waited on the law lol he knew he was caught. Did the other guy get away?

I am a proud descendant of many soldiers who fought to save their homes and homeland from the tyrant government. As well I have been a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans since I was 20 years old. I honor their stance, and take my stand to see they've not died in vain. It is a great honor to read the positive quotes here, thanks to all.

posted @ Wednesday, April 24, 2013 - 13:55Well at least he it repurposing some of the money where it needs to be. I am a student and yes I consider this to be good news, as I am currently worried about earning my HOPE for the upcoming semester. It is well needed fr alot of the students not to mention myself, so you people that wish to nay-say about it can choke on a sock for all I care. There are plenty of young mothers in school that are trying to keep their house intact and i know they as well could sure use it too, and if this help them to achieve it and possibly better the next generation of pupils than Kudos! The only thing I see that would possibly be an issue is did he invest in the elementary school systems and such as he has the technical college systems.. Now I'll dismiss myself because my class is about to begin and the end of the semester is super-near..
On a side note I can understand where some people think that the governments money should just stay in the government or go to "foreign aid" (which is counter-productive for the majority of the time), but I think at this point it is not the monster (bs lawmaking 101) some of you complain about.
posted @ Wednesday, April 24, 2013 - 13:49People should definitely be more aware from many different angles while driving. So lets be sure to inform as we can that they (the drivers) know these things and drive more responsibly. Had this been known to the drivers these things may have not happened.
posted @ Monday, April 22, 2013 - 09:34Involuntary manslaughter goes to the driver soon as something like this happens (and results in a death) according to Georgia law as I understand it, but that still won't make it right for the kids family. The charge will never make it right for our family either where we lost a family member do to car wreck caused by a irresponsible driver, I have alot of empathy for the families envolved.
posted @ Monday, April 22, 2013 - 09:31.This is a joke of the law to have ever made pot illegal anyways, factoring in the resources, medicines, etc. that are not harvested in it's current prohibited state. I hope everyone had a happy 4/20/2013, though I don't consume it, I do condone another (in this case adult) Americans personal freedom and personal responsibility.

For one just to let that be a lesson to them. And there is no telling with the information that was casually not included..
And so you wonder... What would they do to the next lawabiding person thathappened to have out of nowhere done this? Because as a officer of the law this gentleman is definitely subject to an even worse punishment is seems to me.

Rep. Regina Quick, R-Athens, was one of two local delegates to score less than an "A+" in the Chamber of Commerce's annual legislative score card. She and I played phone tag Monday when I was reporting the story and I wasn't able to get her comments in a timely fashion. Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more

The committee opted Tuesday night to put off deciding on the ordinance until, at the earliest, its next meeting. Of note: The Athens-Clarke County attorney highlighted that the proposed times are, in essence, placeholders for the commission to change or keep as it pleases.
