Lady Bulldogs have something to smile about, finally

Wait, did Landers resign? That would be a great reason to smile

Ohio killer's execution takes almost 25 minutes

It is a shame he sat on death row as long as he did. Whether it took 1 minute or 25 minutes the guy got what he deserved. He is dead and gone now. Maybe Ohio should try this new drug combo out on a few more in the coming days to see if this was a fluke or not.

Feisty DB Parrish hopes to crack UGA rotation as a freshman

He can take Swann's spot and I am sure it would be an improvement.

Unemployment benefits bill clears hurdle

It should become mandatory that Chinese is taught in public schools. At least that way they can speak the same language as their new rulers in the years to come.

VIDEO: No. 1 Florida State beats No. 2 Auburn in BCS title game

It seemed that Auburn had a good deal of freshman in the game. My question is, how is Auburn able to get all the way to the BSC championship game with so many freshman but UGA is not able to even get to the SEC championship? Ok, we had some injured players but they were mainly of the offense. Our defense caused UGA to lose most if not all of the games.

UGA's 2013 season: 'We just had a lot of things go wrong'

@whatsthepoint: As a matter of fact it is. UGA has 2 National titles in the last 75 years so really they are not some huge powerhouse.

Grantham: We didn't play good on sudden change

It starts with the coaches and ends with the players. The entire defense terrible. They need to scrap the secondary and start over. There is not a one of the d-backs that could start in a D2 school.

Richt on UGA secondary: 'There's some work obviously that's got to be done'

I was in hopes that Swann would turn pro but I guess everyone has told him he can't even play in the SEC much less the pros.

Athens cop kicks in door to save assault victim

Isn't that a cute little tattoo on the maggot? Too bad the officer didn't use the baton on him to show him what it feels like. Oh well, hopefully the maggot will get a nice big brother to room with while he is in the big house. That is if our DA will do something to him other than a slap on the wrist.

'Duck Dynasty' fans react to Robertson's hiatus

So with the all the laws in Russia against homosexuality then why is the US sending over a team to compete? Why are the networks covering and airing the winter games? Why do they show Putin on TV?
Why aren't the groups on the left jumping up and down about this?

Blog: Can we please fix the Oscars?

Summary:  Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Winter storm drama

Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved.
