Stricklin promises Bulldogs will be SEC contenders

Seems like a good coach. Knows his way around the south. Now let's get behind him and support him and his dawgs.

Most area cities grow daily with commuters

A UGA prof came up with this conclusion? Duh! Nice to see our tax money going towards such research.

IRS training held at island resort, Atlanta hotels

So I thought Obama was going to get a handle on the excessive spending. Boy he is right on top of it.

Man sought in death of wife commits suicide in Georgia motel room

Glad he didn't waste our tax dollars on a trial. Too bad he wasn't man enough to kill himself before he killed his wife.

Maybe someone will share their video with them. Next time maybe they will learn to leave in ample time so they won't miss out. You can't fix stupidity

Bogart Little Leaguer knocked out when garment tested

My guess is that the coaches son was one of the two holding and hitting. Plus jr. is prob on the all star team. The league doesn"t want to hurt it's chances in the playoff.

The mother doesn't want to press charges because her child would be ridiculed for her actions.

Either way the coach should be never allowed to coach again and the two bullies kicked out of the league

Bachtel: Demographic look at immigration issues

I really think we missed an opportunity on the wall. Based on the professor's comments I do think he is somewhat on the right track.
Our government should hire the illegals to build the fence. Only a professor would suggest investing in Mexico to create jobs! Maybe this guy should actually spend time out in the public work place to see how business is actually run

American will favor passengers without roller bags

I will start flying American. Nothing worse than the carry on luggage. Especially people who cannot lift it up to stow it in the overhead.

Something wrong with this. She should have her assets frozen and the money withdrawn from her accounts. Repo her property as well.

Funeral home: No one wants to bury bomb suspect

@THX1138: Where is it written that people deserve a proper burial. Is that something in the burial rule book?
He deserves nothing. If his family want to pay to have his body shipped back to his homeland then let them pay for it.
If a cemetary doesn't want him to be burried there then it is their right to refuse.

Game 3 between Georgia, Arkansas rained out

Well Perno reported they were ready to play hard but things just didn't work out and the ball didn't bounce our way.
I guess a rain out is better than a loss.

Pop Addict Book Review: "Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It" by Nick Carter

As a huge Backstreet Boys fan, I was little perplexed on reading Nick Carter?s book.  It?s not like reading a book about Elvis Presley or The Beatles. I didn?t live through those moments. I didn?t see them in person. But as someone who has followed Nick?s career since I became a fan in 1998, not just in the Backstreet Boys, but as a solo artist, I?ve always thought we had a lot in common besides being the same age. read more

Links to Banner-Herald's award-winning sports stories

The Athens Banner-Herald sports staff combined to win 11 individual awards on Sunday at the Georgia Sports Writers Association's annual meeting in Marietta. You can get a few more details on that in this story ? "Banner-Herald sports staff wins 11 awards" ? and I thought I'd provide some links to the winning stories for the curious. The awards were for the sports staff's work in 2012. read more
