Fine to raise money by asking for donations. But stop asking them of your full-time employees that make less than a living wage.posted @ Wednesday, July 10, 2013 - 12:35
@Millionexus: I'm both a "gun-toter" and a "homophobe." But I have no record (formal or otherwise) of being a loose cannon.
But I never mentioned debating. Just beating the hell out of each other to get it out of the system. Half the posts on this thread seem to be text-based pissing contests about who is right, who makes more money, who is stronger, etc. etc. Just put them in the ring and let them tire themselves out!

This thread is crazy.
We need a public event where posters can get together and beat the hell out of one another so we can move on.posted @ Sunday, June 30, 2013 - 00:16

@Millionexus: Fair enough. But that doesn't mean that all those who vehemently oppose gay-ness, etc. are pickling in it.posted @ Friday, June 28, 2013 - 13:13

Many "straight" people who spend a lot of time worrying about gay people are probably gay themselves. Self loathing must be terrible for them.
If I could see you I'd call you outside for an asinine comment like that. Why is it the gays always use that line? It makes absolutely no sense.posted @ Thursday, June 27, 2013 - 17:35

Levin said there has been a "pervasive influence of race in administration of the death penalty and the inadequacy of counsel — a longstanding issue here."
UM. Perhaps because there has been a pervasive influence of certain races in commission of violent crimes - a longstanding issue EVERYWHERE.

@THX1138: Yes, you made it clear that you think whites throughout history are responsible for egregious human rights offenses against minority races. Yes, some were, most weren't. Just like every race in every country ALL around the world and in ALL times.
Try living in Mexico where I worked for a few years. You'll see amongst them "racism" there that more than doubles ours here, past or present. And I suspect that's the case around the world - that's people for you. And knowledge of that fact is available to anyone that will just open a history book and their mind.posted @ Friday, June 21, 2013 - 18:36

I understand. I'm mostly with you as well. Prejudice is in the category of wisdom.
As I was taught when I was a child, you only have to pet a mean pit bull or two a few times before you steer clear of all pit bulls. Does that mean all pit bulls are going to bite? No, it just means that you'd be safest to just leave them alone all together.posted @ Friday, June 21, 2013 - 18:31
THX1138 - @snarkydude: I see that you are lumping all Blacks into your little rant which is biased to say the least.
Weren't you lumping all whites together when you told me that "our" "white" race has committed evils against all others?posted @ Friday, June 21, 2013 - 18:17

Just tell me what other race besides the so-called "white" race cares so much about spending time, money, effort, lives on helping other races? None. None at all.
Blacks don't help Hispanics, Hispanics don't help Asians, Asians don't help "Native Americans", and none of them - not one - dip into their pockets or gather votes to help "whites."
Folks can call Paula Dean a racist all they want. All they really want is to pull down a majority to put themselves "on top." Let me tell you "from the top", other races, it's no fun having to pay everybody else's way and then get demonized for doing it. I'd be happy to trade places. Just tell me when.posted @ Friday, June 21, 2013 - 16:43

Summary: Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved. An officer reported he was driving the woman and infant to another home in Athens. read more
