This is why the actions of Mark Richt in defying the Athletic Department decision to not award additional compensation to his assistants are so unfathomable to so many of today's sports fans. This gesture on Richt's part was not about "self" or gaining wealth and is therefore contrary to the principles that currently govern too many peoples lives in this country.- Mac
Richt WAS defying the Athletic Depatment decisions. This in itself could be a serious problem. I hope there are not issues between Richt and the AD that we do not know about. If there are problems, I hope they are solved and we never hear about them.
I know that if I were the AD and a Coach paid no attention to my decision there would be a problem. We all know the AD does NOT have the political power to win a public fight with Coach Richt, but the AD does have the ability to make Richts life miserable. We should not get involved but let the powers to be handle this quietly.
We do not really want to make a big deal of this. MR knew it was illegal also the AD told him not to do it, but he did anyway. I am sure no one is real pleased with his actions. Let's just let this fade into the sunset.
posted @ Thursday, December 22, 2011 - 13:13We will never win another game. It was good for one year. What we need is a UGA-PAC. We could pay players and the coaches could say they knew nothing. Wait, is that not what Dye is doing at AU. Damn another great idea that AU thought of first. I was right, we will never win again.

posted @ Tuesday, September 20, 2011 - 12:56Ok CharlesB, I am going to tell you everything anyone ever needs to know about Coach R. Are you ready? Get some paper and a pen, write this down.
He was a great man.
I do not care about the coaching stuff, someone else can decide his legacy.
He was a great man.
I played when UGA football was segregated. He would talk to me (a 17 year old child) about how screwed up this was. Not because it would help him win but because there were black kids my age that dreamed, ,just as I did, about being a Dawg. He cared about everybody.
He was a great man.
I was too small and way too slow to be at Georgia. He said, "Son we choose you. You are the one we wanted. See that wall, now run through it."
My answer was and still is, "Yes Sir". I did run through some walls because he told me I could. (maybe not on the football field but other walls)
This is not what you wanted to hear. You wanted funny stuff and there was plenty of that. Most of which I can not put in a family newspaper. These are the things I remember. He taught me how to treat my child and wife, even though it was years before I was blessed with either, and he taught me how to treat my friends, he taught me, not just coached me. He was a great man.
Mcdawg--
Other than the math, did you see a problem?
(Mighty fastidious)..

There is one thing that made coach E. Russell great. He never put you in a position to fail. I had no speed, therefore I was never put in a position that I might have to cover a back coming out of the back field.
We have OL that are 6-5 and 330 lbs.and we ask them to chase a DE that is 6-3
225lbs. We have put Bean Anderson in a position to fail. We have 270lb. FB and we want to run the spread. Are you kidding me? Get in the I formation and run the ball at people. This gives our big powerful (slow) linemen a chance to put pads on a DL or LB. This also runs the clock which will give our enemy the ball fewer times during the game.
We gave up 35 points last week. Did the D play a terrible game? No.
They could not run the ball and we gave up maybe one big play. The problem was we played one of the best college QBs in the nation. He could get very short passes to the correct guys very quickly. How many QBs are we going to play the rest of the year that can complete 999 out of 1000 passes in a game? None.
The answer is for us to keep the ball, let the clock run and let us win some 10 to 7 ballgames. We have a great kicking game. Use it. We have big linemen. Use them. We have a great TE that can get open when in man coverage. Use him. We have a 270 lb. FB and a 270 Lb. TE that can wear down people. Use them. We have 330 lb. linemen that can also wear down people late in the game. Use them. We have a defense that can stop the run and give up very few big plays. Use them. Do not, do not, put players in a situation where they will without a doubt fail.
Simple basic football. Get in the power I, run the ball, throw went they dare you to, let your kicking game and and D win the game.
Tell me we do not have a TB or two or three. I will agree, but I saw some things I liked. Give them a solid chance.
Tell me I am old as rocks and don't know anything about modern football. You might be correct. My theory is football is played exactly now as it was 35 years ago. The best prepared, physically and psychologically, will win if allowed to succeed by the coaching staff. Coach Russell is still the best. God bless him.
When a lineman breaks a technique that he has been coached over and over, he stands up. Why? If he can stay low and get off the ball during the early stages of practice or the first three quarters of a game and then his first move is to stand up,
Why? Conditioning.. being in football shape..being in a state where your brain still controls your muscles.
This is what Coach Mrvos-Tereshinski has worked so hard to return to this team.
This is what we have lacked for several years.
Your body can do much more than you ever thought possible if it is demanded.
Last year we could have won six games in the fourth quarter. We lost them all.
We may lose every damn game this year but these guys will be ready. They will be ready all day.
Sacrifice and suffering for the collective good...they could be something special if they would just come together and pursue this common goal...together they can achieve what the likes of Stafford and Moreno could not!..
What do all of these statements have in common?
Never once did Mac use the word Me or I.
Sacrifice, suffering, they, together, achieve, common goal- Great words, winning words.
These words when turned into actions will make them winners. The actions will make us (the fans) proud and make teams fear playing the Dawgs and that is where they and we dream of being.. Be proud of the Red Hat..
Dream team 2 will come with wins. Dream team 1 came with great recuiting and that will not happen again without winning big games this year.
Mac is correct about the injuries, that could be the down fall of this team.
I was pleased to hear CMR say, "I know what in the HELL I am doing". There must be fire in the gut for him to say such a thing, and fire is what we have lacked for several years. Somewhere the desire and fire that was at one time The Georgia Dawgs has been lost. The passion and fire that comes from wearing that RED HAT has to be resurrected, I hope that has happened with the new weight and off season work. This team needs a leader, one who knows he will win and is proud of the sight of his own blood. He will not just lead but will carry this team on his shoulders, if he must, and he will not ever consider losing. Losing is not an option.
Bloody Tuesday was about all the psychology I could stand and it had great, lasting effect. I assume you can no longer close practice and work on psychology
(get your mind right) as in the old days. Maybe that is good, but others forms of psychology takes longer and is not near as effective.
Dear Mac,
Coach (I use that title with caveats) Tressel
is short for this world.
His new job will be with ESPN, doing infomercials for tatoo shops.
The NCAA has sent 72 "letters" and 60 coaches have lost their jobs.
Not a good portend, but you know he knew about AJ Green, so it is inevitable
that he will be required to see Coach Mrvos after practice and we will never
hear from Tressel again and his name will not be mentioned by any OSU
fans.
Mrvos has (had) that effect on people.
Mrvos my hero.
I still have a butt problem caused by his foot.
Hello boys..
I hope I am in the correct forum.
I have sincerely missed you guys.

Summary: Over the past few weeks I've noticed a change to the ATM I visit on West Broad in front of Five Guys. It's a Bank of America ATM and the main reason I like it is because there is only a $2 fee to use it. Over the past few weeks I've noticed a change to the ATM I visit on West Broad in front of Five Guys. It's a Bank of America ATM and the main reason I like it is because there is only a $2 fee to use it. The last few times I visited the ATM, I put my card in the slot and the ATM immediatley gave me the card back. I was a little alarmed at first and tried to put the card back in but the screen prompted me to input my PIN number instead. I was able to complete my transaction but it threw me out of my comfort zone. read more
