I think that many of the social problems that we face as a nation are because too many homes don't have a mother and a father.
Many single parents do a wonderful job of raising their children but sadly too many don't.posted @ Sunday, December 21, 2014 - 13:29
@hjfedrick: I looked a several websites for the numbers, not just one and it depends a lot of what part of the country is being used for a survey.
And it didn't take me as long to write my comment or as long to read yours. Comments need to be short and to the point. Long comments don't get the attention that the poster thinks it does.posted @ Friday, December 19, 2014 - 21:37

Can't we just hack them back?posted @ Friday, December 19, 2014 - 18:54
@PatrickD: You may want to do a little bit of research. I checked on this and found that the numbers don't back up your statement. A lot of it has to do with the population in a given city but by and large blacks commit the most violent crime with Hispanics second then whites.posted @ Thursday, December 18, 2014 - 19:35
@snarkydude: I agree. It's time to stop screwing around with the lethal injections and go back to what works. There is no humane way to take a person's life so just do it as quickly as possible and move on to the next one.posted @ Thursday, December 18, 2014 - 18:43

@mpd0.59: This doesn't mean that low prices are here to stay. We still need the pipeline and we still need to work on other forms of energy. We need to try to be independent of other countries for our needs. We don't have many friends left in the world.posted @ Tuesday, December 16, 2014 - 11:55
A true friend will tell you what you need to hear and not what you want to hear. And he won't care if it makes you mad. Remember he's your friend and sometimes friends have to do that.posted @ Monday, December 15, 2014 - 18:37
I agree that whites and blacks will never understand each other. An example.
White man to black man. "You would give ten years of your life if you could be white for one day".
Black man's reply. "If you could be black for one Saturday night you would never want to be white again".posted @ Monday, December 15, 2014 - 18:32

@cairopilots: Thanks but what I would suggest is giving them to the Athens library or which ever one is close to you. Many times the books are placed in book sales to help raise money so they can buy new books.
We do a cleaning out every couple of years and donate boxes of books. I think some of them I bought back from the library a few times. You can also take a tax deduction for them.posted @ Sunday, December 14, 2014 - 19:56
@retiredandhappy: That won't happen. That would be admitting that there are problems within the black community that can only be solved by black people working together to make their own lives and the lives of their children better.
That ain't what the good Rev. Al preaches.posted @ Sunday, December 14, 2014 - 07:42
In my bible all lives matter. Maybe Rev. Al needs to go back and read his.
Why don't these people put this much effort in stopping black on black crime? Or is this not a problem worth talking about?posted @ Saturday, December 13, 2014 - 20:36

There are some people that don't want our young people being exposed to religion in schools. I think being brainwashed by liberal teachers is far worse.posted @ Friday, December 12, 2014 - 06:04
@Libralady: My comment is far more valid than anything that is found on FBNN. That's Facebook News Network.
I will give you an example. A guy came into work one day all bent out of shape because the federal government will be in charge of hunting permits starting in 2015. Nobody under the age of 21 can get a permit. People under the age of 21 will not be allowed to hunt even if they are with an adult.

Summary: I'm not saying it's lonely to be a movie critic, but we often find ourselves seated alone in an empty theatre when we're watching new stuff. I know people who say they won't go see anything unless they have at least one other person to go with, but I've always enjoyed having the place to myself.
