The 1% has kept us occupied and squabbling by harping on divisive issues, like race, gender, ethnicity, and religion, and ALL THE WHILE, they have been devouring the Institutions of Democracy like termites.

Tell me again, WHO is the enemy of the American People?

Jones: Polling changing early picture of big primaries

http://insideradvantage.com is an establishment Repuglican website, run by establishment Repuglican Matt Towery, masquerading as an honest information broker. I would not give it a high confidence factor to his praise of Jack Kingston, the establishment Repuglican candidate.

The U.S. Two Party System has morphed into a two-headed serpent, bought-and-paid-for by the 1%.

We the People have become functionally disenfranchised.

Sarah Palin to appear in Senate ad for Karen Handel

LOL! The 2014 TEA/GOP Senate Primary is a Race to the Bottom. It's pretty obvious that the down-and-dirty TEA/GOP Base cast their votes based on *Spite*, rather than their own - or their nation's - best interests. ALL their ads just reek of negatives. Therefore the seven candidates will be required to out-a$$hole each other in order to differentiate himself/herself from the others.

And frankly, I cannot think of a better one-word descriptor of Sarah Palin: the willfully ignorant, half-term governor of a backwater state, money grubbing, nattering nabob of negativity, Wasilla Hillbilly, than "a$$hole".

Give Karen Handel props for winning the endorsement of the populist sphincter of the TEA/GOP.

I'd be curious to know if Ms Handel's Campaign paid a premium for that endorsement.

WHEN did the U.S. Two Party System morph into a two-headed serpent - which serpent is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Military/Industrial/WallSt/Pharma Criminal Conspiracy?

In the USSR Capitalism destroyed Communism.
In the USA, Unregulated Capitalism has damn near destroyed Democracy.
TELL ME AGAIN, just Who is the enemy of the People?!?!

Folx, we're watching The Republic slip thru our fingers.

Jones: New legislator's controversial proposals create problem for GOP

@snarkydude: I believe that there are significantly *more* deranged Republicans than deranged Democrats in both the Georgia State house, and also in Congress.

But one question: Just WHO is turning Misogyny, Bigotry and Lunacy into Law?
HINT: It's NOT the Democrats.

Jones: New legislator's controversial proposals create problem for GOP

"That Sam Moore - He ain't one of US!"
Your disingenuous disclaimers are too little, too late. Most folks do not see any meaningful difference between the "respectable GOP" and the certifiable dingbats of the "TEA Party", who have usurped the GOP.

By their actions shall ye know them. Look at the legislation the TEA/GOP has done nationally, and at the State level. Packin' heat when you go to church??!!?!? PUH-LEEZE!

So, it's the "TEA/GOP", Now and Forever . . . on a trajectory into the Dustbin of History.

Treat marijuana like we treat tobacco or beer. Legalize pot, regulate it, and tax it @ $20.00/ounce.
Everybody wins. - except the Mexican Mafia.

Too bad for the TEA/GOP. Gov. Christie was their last, best, hope of of having half-a-chance of winning the White House in 2016.

Not that it particularly matters - Hillary Clinton seems to be the likely Democratic nominee, and she is every bit as much of a Military/Industrial/WallSt/Pharma stooge as *any* TEA/GOPer.

Used2b reminds me of Dick Cheney: NEVER in doubt, SELDOM correct.

The corporate-owned mainstream media will spin the polls to favor those who pay for their services, I.E., their corporate advertisers. The corporate-owned MSM is a HUUUUGE part of the problems facing the USA this new year.

PBO is getting a bump in the polls because the Affordable Health Care Act WORKS! Despite the TEA/GOP's histrionic and (imho) treasonous-to-the-American-People attempts to prevent its success.

WHOM does the U.S. government serve?
The U.S. government serves the Military/Industrial/WallSt/Pharma Criminal Conspiracy.

America's problems are not black vs. white vs. brown; nor christian vs. jew vs. muslim; nor gay vs. straight; nor (new in 2013) atheists vs. believers; nor middle class vs. working class; nor new immigrants vs. adult children of old immigrants.

Why are we fighting each other when our real enemies are impoverishing ALL of us?

"Santa Claus represents the spirit of Universal Liberalism in general and also Hillary Clinton in particular. The midget deer represents FAUXNews in general, and Rep. Daryl Issa in particular. The blinding spotlight represents the Capital-"T" Truth about the Democratic Party in general, and Benghazi specifically. Things are gonna be DIFFERENT in 2016!"

Happy Holidays, Used2B!

Blog: Can we please fix the Oscars?

Summary:  Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Winter storm drama

Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved. An officer reported he was driving the woman and infant to another home in Athens. read more
