As someone who received plenty of paddlings in grade school, I can tell you it is effective at one thing: it teaches a kid to try harder at not getting caught. Basically it made me better at being a delinquent.posted @ Monday, November 4, 2013 - 10:41

But of course. Since banks are responsible for the financial situation this country is in, they might as well jump on the band wagon and begin laying off employees like so many companies have been forced to do. The big difference is that the bank chose to do it so that their profits will continue to rise at the same rate. But eventually everyone in this country will be too poor to pay their bank loans and then the feces will fly.
As Frank Zappa once put it... "The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it is profitable to maintain the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery and pull back the curtains and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater."
And trust me folks.... what people perceive as freedom in this country is nothing more than an illusion.posted @ Thursday, October 17, 2013 - 10:20

Exactly, because the number of people eligible for benefits is down significantly. Now if they would provide the number of unemployed people rather than the number of people applying for benefits, the reality of the situation would be revealed. Every month the number of unemployed goes up and that number will likely never go back down during human history.posted @ Thursday, October 17, 2013 - 10:09
How can they be charged with public indecency if they were inside the private walls of a locked school?posted @ Wednesday, October 16, 2013 - 12:45
How absolutely ridiculous to arrest someone for another persons action. If the bullied girl had any sense in her head, she would have beaten the crap out of the bullies rather than kill herself. No big loss.posted @ Wednesday, October 16, 2013 - 12:42
Oh yeah. What wonderful idea to connect your computer to a wide open, insecure public network so that everything stored on your machine is visible to anyone else in that park. People are such idiots using their computers on public networks.posted @ Wednesday, October 16, 2013 - 12:39
Why volunteer for work when you can get a job and work for money or just stay home and watch tv or play video games?posted @ Monday, October 14, 2013 - 18:47
What a joke considering the gov has done everything in their power to ingratiate the illegal aliens and allow them right as if they were citizens. In fact it seems that the illegals and the criminals get benefits from the laws in this country that those who obey said laws do not.posted @ Monday, October 14, 2013 - 18:42

Convicted criminal's rights.... now that's funny. Once you're in prison you're the property of the state or whoever owns that prison and have no rights.posted @ Sunday, October 13, 2013 - 12:45

It amazes me that people still go to college in this country given the steady decline of civilization. Soon we will be able to compare the US to N Vietnam.posted @ Monday, September 23, 2013 - 12:40

If a trained Cop didn't defend himself, what chance do these wannabe Rambos have?
Clearly this cop is an idiot incapable of defending himself.... and likely anyone else for that matter. I feel confident that if such a thug were to attempt such a crime against me, it will be the last thing he ever does.posted @ Monday, September 23, 2013 - 12:32
Tewise - How in the world could they treat that girl that way. Anybody that was in that car needs to be charged. No body should walk free of this despicable degrading way they treated this girl. Taylor couldn't have been disrespected anymore that what she was. Purely sickening.
My thoughts to her parents and family that justice will prevail.
uh... she was already dead. it's not as if there was an actual crime committed yet the pigs insist on punishing someone for anything they don't like.posted @ Wednesday, September 4, 2013 - 12:46

So there was improvement in 19 of 43 states studied. That means the other 24 states must have shown an increase in obesity.

Summary: Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved. An officer reported he was driving the woman and infant to another home in Athens. read more
