@mcdawg: Again, thanks. In today's online atla paper there is an article of how the IRS- surprise surprise- never touched or bothered the "big boys"- the major contributors to either party.
posted @ Saturday, May 18, 2013 - 13:06@mcdawg: I did not mean that you had stated that we are headed toward communism. That is what I have heard/read many people who are conservative say.
Thanks for your comments- I understand, and , unfortunately agree fully. You just stated my belief more academically accurate.
Somewhere else recently you or King discussed the handful of financial cows that do as they please. And congress allows it. The country seems to have moved into this mess, and not just a re visit to the Gilded Age.
This, too, shall pass away. Or will it?
posted @ Friday, May 17, 2013 - 12:26@mcdawg: To me, this country is moving not toward communism as many conservatives claim, but fascism- play the game with the MAN and you get to be rich.
This whole mess scares me to death. All these controversies combined do not exactly reflect openness and freedom. With the 2 parties controloing all the media- one side or the other, how do we know the truth.
I recently viewed "The obsolete Man" -a classic Twilight Zone about fcsicm. Prophetic words: truth and logic are the enemies of the state.
You recently posted about a handful of super powerful interests. I unfortunately agree.
In the old days, one could function in Stickville, but now BIG BROTHER imposes his will and tentacles everywhere.
The national media has discussed the IRS mess. A year ago in Tampa there was total disregard at first by the IRS about income tax fraud. It was huge, discovered by the Tampa Police, but until they howled long and hard our beloved IRS did nothing. I doubt that they have done much in reality.
God bless America.
posted @ Thursday, May 16, 2013 - 12:02The NCAA is all powerful. They do what they want to do and when tghey want to. Until they are replaced with a ruling body who cares about right and wrong. truth will not matter. As I blogged recently AJ gets 4 games for taking $ he returned. THE OHIO STATE gets a one year delayed penalty against players who turned pro anyway.
Justice- that which inflates the pocket book and/or ego of the NCAA.
Academic integrity? UNC Chapel Hill. Enough said.
posted @ Friday, May 10, 2013 - 11:50NCAA is a phrase that means power mad self serving ego maniacs. Something is definitely needed, but integrity should be real.
AJ got 4 games - Ohio St nothing for a year, etc.
The rules apply when and if they so choose.
Student -athletes? That's why games are at 10 pm on the road in mid-week- academic excellence. Bobby Knight said this 15-20 yrs ago.
I love college athletics and know economic reality. I also know political image-conscious liars.

Mainly, another example of the runaway power for the MEDICAL INDUSTRY.Profit motive-cut corners.
But our lawmakers seem to me to have been bought off in some way, lega or not. Recent articles about cancer care, hospital observation insteda of admittance.
GREED GREED GREED.
Obama care and all other current- pure profit mortives still do not address the problem.
A USA Today chart about 3 years ago listed the top 10 contributors to Congress. Surprise surprise. The medical world- drug companies,e tc were 4 of them.
Marcus Welby is dead

There needs to be change- now! But will there be any? Too much govt control, too much greed from some doctors and alldrug companies. and a worthless gutless govt. The answer? do not get sick, just die.
in the name of freedoom, and free enterprise, of course.

Politicians constantly talk of acountability from govt workers- teachers, cops, firemen, etc.
THIS IS WHAT IT SHOULD BE : JAIL FOR THE JUDGES AND LAWYERS WHO GET THESE PEOPLE OUT EARLY.
JAIL FOR THE LAWMAKERS WHO WRITE THE LAWS WHO ALLOW THIS.
THE RECORDS OF THE AFOREMENTIONED SHOULD BE POSTED IN THE PAPER, ETC, MONTHLY.
posted @ Monday, April 22, 2013 - 11:26No one concerned about potential loss of freedom of speech?Regardless of how one feels about the gay issue, does no one see a problem with BIG BROTHER or LITTLE BROTHER in Calif. passing those laws? The disease of political correctness will continue to grow.
To me there is a difference in gay bashing, of denying basic rights, of hurling accusations, and of saying I am not for this and my group chooses not to condone it.
What hapens to one eventually happens to another.Witness the fallout over Chick Fil A. In the name of free thinking and speech, Emory has removed them from their institute of free thinking, even after the foodery agreed to demands of stopping contributing to certain organizations the gay leadership found offensive.
Fascism here we come. When does it start with conservative churches?

I fully understand what you say, and agree. I am 62 and share your very thoughts. My grandchildren well may not see either a viable country or a republic that we have lived in.My comment was more of a wish/sarcastic . If things do not collapse, I would have made it to older age with a promised income. If. If. Even today the politician -liars are talking about doctoring the cpi to give out lower ss benefits.
I am a state employee in Florida, unfortunately. The king,er , governor and Legislature want to end state retirement, having all new employees get their own 403b-401k. That means no one would be adding to the current pool of money used to pay retirees. But the politician liars have promised that they would not run out of money. I am so thankful for that . Right.
Let's figure out what to do. Do we get passports and do like the von Trapp family? or do we go down with the ship, or will the powers that be actually correct themselves?Article in St Pete paper yesterday about how many large - $100k and up- donations our gov is already getting for next race. Little companies like Blue Cross, etc. I was raised in Ga so I understand the way things are there too.
One other item of note most people do not know. My wife works at the Tampa VA. She is federal civil service. She has not paid in any into ss, and gets none, unless she works some in the private sector. If I die, she gets nothing from me, unless she qualifies.Even then the death benefit is cut by about 2/3 just because she is part of civil service retirement.
But ss was to share the need. But again if one is worth millions they pay nothing in over what a $150 k income or so. SS is for us peasoants, if it is convenient
Every body keep writing and clarifyiing and debating . As I said earlier, this is better thean Econ 101 and is current.

Are you saying the collapse is a metter of when, not if? No real chance to fix the mess? How long before the fall?
I do not disagree with your comments- my questions are not sarcastic- what do you think? Is Biblical-like Armegeddon near?Economically, at least.

The truly over achieved- lost by 3. Just like our football team, a bit of tough luck. Many plays and funny calls- one could have changed the outcome. One shot during the cold streak in the secoond half went in, came out , went in, and rimmed out again.
Coach Landers out coached those others so much it is silly!!!

The media angers people, especially conservatives, a lot. But if there is no free press, who can discover the evils politicians or business commit?

Give him a chance. If you are old enough you may recall UGA was in a mess and the new AD hired an unknown Vince Dooley.
I am tired of hearing " run it like a business." Was it business that lied and manipulated the system to cause the economic collapse?
Should UGA be run like Circuit City was, or Eastern Airlines?

WE dropped to 7 after barely losing to AL- dropped below the Lizrads even though we beat them- and except for 3 bad to's we might have crushed them.
ND deserves Top 10 - in the SEC. 2 ot w's- the pac 12 really showed power didn't it? About 3 more close w's.Barely beat Mich- Al killed them and SC beat them.
SC intruder- GA was better at end of yr. Had SC not gotten beat up Sc might really hav ebeen better evn at end of yr, so that was bad luck.
Speaking of teh Lizards- did Louisville wax them , but still rated below them?
Ohio St should be rated no. 1- in crooks who got favored treatment from the WORTHLESS NCAA. While AJ paid his ill gotten $ back they were in denial and beat an SEc team with a slew of violators.
Evewrybody jumped us in '07 for no reason.
It goes on and on.
Next YR- Dawgs have a chance to do even better, but they better get to work.
GO DAWGS.

Thanks for one of the best years in UGA history. Good luck and God bless.
I really feel this season's success could be repeated next year, maybe even with better results. The luck factor is always huge. In "07 we could have been NC, or could have had disaster. Season turned around with close win over Vandy.
In"80 we won 3 games by a hair- UT fumbled inside our 5, Rogers fumbled late, and the Lindsay Scott play. Then in '81 we lost to Marino on a perfect storm play, or those results could have been different. Barely lost to Clemson earlier.
AS OLD POSTED, our D did not perform overall as it should have. THAT WILL HAVE TO CHANGE, BUT I AM HOPEFUL
GO DAWGS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

Sorry about the headache, but I felt strongly, and was in a hurry, so I misspelled stuff and did not properly highlight certain phrases.
That being said I think my feelings about the team attitude, etc, was vindicated by our performance in the bowl game. Took a while to wake up , but the DAWGS shut out Neb and their mouthy children trhe last 25 minutes, outscoring them 22-0. Could easily have been 29-0 except fro King not making the catch.

You are absolutely right. The tide was reeling. No one ever mentioned that by not spiking the ball Ala COULD NOT GET THEIR GOAL LINE D IN AND ORGANIZED.
As you said -their great player made a great play. If not for that WE WIN!
In almost every case if the pass in incomplete, we still have 1 play-possibly 2.
To criticize that call is totally ridiculous.
Thank you for your iinsight.
I am disappoinited that any true Dawg fan would consider that question proper AT THAT TIME. In fact, I am disappointed that any human would would consider that question proper at that time to ANYONE.The phrase here is COURTESY AND RESPECT for the moment. $$ does not matter. There had just occurred one of the greatest games of all time- others across the nation agree. Emotions are high, and spent. If Mr Ego- butt reporter wanted to ask that question he could have later, or before, instead of totally disrespecting the coacxh, players and situation. At berst it is a stupid grandstand effort.
