Well, I can't argue with your comments. I will say that sadly, everyone is recruiting anymore. High school sports have changed dramatically. Teams play and practice year around and yes, public and private schools recruit. Morgan county won a state championship with 2 stars--one from Greene County and one from Elbert. It is pretty crazy. So, you are correct. The kid was recruited and they are a heck of a team. They are fun to watch and Turtle will be a solid addition at UGA.posted @ Thursday, January 15, 2015 - 18:07
Some of you wouldn't be happy no matter what CMR does. Georgia is a class program. Of course, that isn't enough for you, and you all seem to know what each of these players thinks of Coach. Clueless. I hope he gets on here and laughs at these ridiculous comments.
Coach, we appreciate you and what you do for Dawg football. You are a class act and our guys make us proud each week. No program is perfect, and kids will do dumb things. You handle things rather than sweeping them under the rug. It has been fun watching the games this season and I look forward to next season as well!
Haters---get a life. You seriously need one.posted @ Saturday, January 3, 2015 - 20:40
Let's save the "coaches fault" crap. We had 2 fumbles, from guys who never fumble. Mason throws an interception, when he has been dead on most of the season. Hicks lets a kick off drop......all things that kids are capable of doing no matter how well they are coached. I hate this for the guys as they have worked hard this year, but credit Tech and the fact that stuff happens.
I hate that the game ended on Mason's throw. He has done a heck of a job this season and the Dawg nation is proud of him! I am proud to be a Dawg fan! An incredible program with integrity, great kids and great coaches.
This guy that turned Todd in is slime. He wasn't making enough money off of Gurley so he set him up. Awful....should be unlawful.
Again, everyone can make money off of the name Gurley, except the guy the name belongs too.....unreal.
I have always, always support Coach Richt. However, if he does not support his guy in this, I am done. This is absolutely ridiculous. Manziel missed a half a game---then you have sexual assault charges at Florida State--no suspension. The NCAA is a joke.
Every other kid at college can work and earn money---they make millions on this kid, and yet he can't sell, if he did, his own name??
Richt, get behind your boy. Go to bat for him. We will all be behind you.
Todd, we stand with you!!!
@dawg23: "start a church in Honduras" ?? Seriously? Well, I guess that comment let's us know what your real issue with Coach Richt is. Pretty sad.posted @ Sunday, September 14, 2014 - 18:52
Wow, such a shock to hear these comments...
So, Bobo was a genius for running the similar play on the first drive where we scored. Yet, he is an idiot for trying it again on the last play? You can't have it both ways. It is pretty easy to sit here and Monday morning quarterback.
Richt didn't miss the 28 yd field goal, and his kicker almost never does.....it just happened.
I will agree that our D was a let down. We scored 35 in the rain....pretty nice.
It is just never a shock to hear all of the experts get on here and immediately bash the coaches. No one takes into account a bogus hold that cost us a touch down, or that our SEC leader, misses an easy kick. Sometimes it is just that simple. You knew SC would be ready--heck they were picked to win the East.
Dawgs, hang in there. We support you AND your coaches and appreciate all your hard work. We know there are great games to come and that you will be standing at the end of the season!posted @ Sunday, September 14, 2014 - 18:48
One of the reasons I love living in Oconee County is that I actually get to enjoy my hard-earned tax dollars. We have beautiful parks and an incredible rec center. We pay lower taxes than Clarke--where waste on tired programs is everywhere. Why wouldn't businesses want to move to Oconee with the lower tax costs? Clarke tax payers pay and pay and pay for housing that is abused and for other services that people abuse. There is so much waste. Oconee has been very good about not raising taxes and not abusing is revenue. You can see your tax dollars at work. It will continue to flourish while Clarke will continue to........posted @ Saturday, July 12, 2014 - 08:45
"A Taliban statement, also distributed to media, quoted their leader Mullah Mohammad Omar as describing the release of the five Taliban officials from Guantanamo as a significant achievement for the movement. The Taliban had announced the exchange with "great happiness and joy" and said they were seeking the release of additional prisoners, though they provided no specifics."
Americans should be very afraid. Obama just made everyone a target. This is a win for the bad guys and a very, very, big loss and embarrassment for America. And Obama has the nerve to say that "we don't leave Americans behind". Should we name all of the Americans that have been left behind on his watch??? Does the word Benghazi ring a bell?posted @ Wednesday, June 4, 2014 - 08:53
Just when you thought America couldn't get any weaker...
And yet, the ignorant continue to make excuses and cover for this completely incompetent president....unreal.posted @ Wednesday, June 4, 2014 - 08:50
I am confused as to why anyone is surprised that this scum bag said what he said. Look at his life style. Again, he is scum.
Regardless of the fact that he is scum, how in the world are we going to say that a person should be fined or banned from a business because of something they said in their home to their girlfriend? Really, you people are ok with this? We are going to hold people accountable for saying things we don't like or that offend us? Wow....
Remember, free speech means you will be offended, you will hear ridiculous, hurtful, mean, things.....It has to do with that "free" thing.
@Libralady: SEVERAL Oconee employees have already contacted PAGE. Oconee's way of thanking the teachers who already put in hours beyond what is expected, to produce the TOP test scores in the state, it to tell them they are expected to do things that no other system expects. Perhaps the OC super could take lessons for Clarke:
Employees won’t have to make up the three other days because “employees already work well beyond normal business hours,” according to an announcement from Clarke County Superintendent Philip Lanoue.posted @ Tuesday, February 25, 2014 - 12:24
ABH---very sad that you are going to require people to PAY to access your paper online.
Rumor is Oconee will be offering an online version of their paper which has increased dramatically and they will pick up the online customers you will be losing. The number of people that access your online paper has attracted the many adverisements---this will subside as you lose people.
Ridiculous to pay for an online look.posted @ Tuesday, February 11, 2014 - 09:41
@Dr Benway: Please, save it.
Jimmy botched everything from the rescue attempt to negotiations. Reagan let them know if elected President, Iran would be a parking lot. He won the election and Iran released our hostages.
Kind of like Jimmy Carter's response to the Iran hostage situation...posted @ Friday, January 31, 2014 - 13:39
The kids could miss 10 days and it wouldn't affected test scores. So much time is wasted in public schools. Ask the kids. They will tell you how many times they sit and do nothing. No need to panic over missing a few days of school.posted @ Tuesday, January 28, 2014 - 09:10

And you think this will motivate people to make more money? Earn more so the government and take more and waste more?
The wealthy will take their money, quit working, and go sit in the sand on some island. That will dry up the jobs and those that depend on them for their food stamps will wonder where all those evil rich people went.posted @ Thursday, January 23, 2014 - 08:31

@pinkears3: Let me answer your question. NO, they do not think that they are "all that". However, millions of Americans do. They just do what they do and it resonates with millions of Americans. Many of us are sick to death of the filthy, junk on tv. DD is a nice change from that.

Summary: I'm not saying it's lonely to be a movie critic, but we often find ourselves seated alone in an empty theatre when we're watching new stuff. I know people who say they won't go see anything unless they have at least one other person to go with, but I've always enjoyed having the place to myself. As you might imagine, the vast majority of the editorial cartoons available these days for publication through the syndicate which supplies cartoons to the Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens are addressing the situation in Ferguson, Mo., where the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white police officer has touched off a number of demonstrations -- some peaceful, but many not at all peaceful, with tear gas fired by police officers and gunshots fired by some protester. read more
