I know this woman. Unfortunately, she is a crack-addicted schizophrenic who hardly takes her meds because she says she "doesn't need them." I happened to be in her presence about eight years ago when she alleged that government higher ups were on top of phone poles listening to everything below. Bless her heart. I really hope she gets and ACCEPTS the help she truly and so desperately needs....
Perhaps a little exaggeration on the $600 part? If she lives in Oak Hill, then surely she knows thuggin' and theivin' is a part of life there. Who in their right mind would leave $600 in the in THAT neighborhood??? Just saying...

What else is new?
I never knew a pond could leak. I guess one DOES learn something new everyday.
I just ran across Weaver D's restaurant score while researching something else.......81 people! Just not good enough for me.
EVERYONE knows a motorist is bound by law to come to a COMPLETE stop whenever a school bus starts to slow down to let kids on and off it. And so now, as a result of being ignorant of the law (purposefully or not), a child has been unnecessarily injured. Jeeeeeeeeze Louise people! We have GOT to do better. Dang!!!
Bless her heart! R.I.P Miss Ruby Jo Eskew.
"...and to not use drugs or alcohol during the entire 15-year sentence"
FAT CHANCE!!!
All this BS takes valuable, precious time away from the regular school day.
It's a pure shame our kids even have to worry about guns and violence in their institutions of higher learning!
And who is she?

Not sure about the third address, but Cone Drive and Martin Circle are very close to each other, so the incidences COULD actually be related. Just saying...

Aggravated assault? Am I missing something here? Why is this not attempted murder???
Now this one takes the cake!
@OconeeJoe: Excellent point my friend. Sounds like one of those glass half full, half empty-type scenario. Some double-edged sword this is huh?!?! I guess we're damned if we do, damned if we don't in this particular situation.
First of all, doing something like this is terrible in itself, but did she NOT know that creating paper trails that lead straight back to her was a silly thing to do? "Silly rabbit, Tricks are for kids!"
Good! Let him ROT in prison!!!
I guess she'll have to choose her baby daddy more carefully in the future.

Rep. Regina Quick, R-Athens, was one of two local delegates to score less than an "A+" in the Chamber of Commerce's annual legislative score card. She and I played phone tag Monday when I was reporting the story and I wasn't able to get her comments in a timely fashion. Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more

The committee opted Tuesday night to put off deciding on the ordinance until, at the earliest, its next meeting. Of note: The Athens-Clarke County attorney highlighted that the proposed times are, in essence, placeholders for the commission to change or keep as it pleases.
