Resilient Bulldogs continue to roll, beat Arkansas 45-32
retiredandhappy - I'm still trying to figure why the fire went out in the second half
That's easy. Mark Richt tried to run the clock out as soon as the second half started. That's always been a Richt trademark. Get a lead and sit on it. That worked in the old days, but now with high powered offenses you can't sit on a lead. Look what Saban and Ala, did to Texas A&M. With 13 people picking the final four teams for the playoffs. You better be impressive.

Woman reports ‘slave labor’ on Arnoldsville farm

The best way to ruin a good story is to hear the other side of it. Actually, this wasn't much of a story.

Dems hope for strong get-out-the-vote success

I saw some of the "get out the dem vote" people a couple of weeks ago at the flea market. Most of the people they were trying to sigh up didn't speak English. Are you allowed to vote if you can't speak English?

Madison Co. school board votes to modify Christian monument at high school
jtsim - What doesn't make sense is that the school board rolled over and played dead.
Maybe the school board should be voted out if they are that weak.

Petition to White House to pardon Gurley may be losing steam

I wonder how many of the 9000 plus people that signed the petition vote or care about real issues. Football has it's place, but in the grand scheme of things. It's just a game.

With Gurley gone, Bulldogs felt "like we had something to prove"

The challenge will be tougher next week. They better stay mad, as Jenkins said.

Gurley-less Georgia blanks Mizzou 34-0 on road behind Chubb, Mason

The Dawgs get an A+. Btw, Brendan Douglas played pretty good also.

UPDATE: As UGA prepares for Missouri, Gurley gets a lawyer

If Gurley didn't do this, he should be standing under the arch screaming to high heaven that he's innocent. And if he did deny it, he shouldn't be suspended until it's proved he did. But, I haven't heard him deny it.

Georgia's Mason advices star Gurley to go with the candles

Is this what sports reporting has come to. A story about a player telling another player to get candles for his girlfriend. Good grief.

US predicts lower heating bills this winter

All this tells me, is, with all the gadgets, radar, computers and what not. The experts still can't predict Mother Nature. After all, Mother Nature is a woman and as everybody knows. You can't predict what a woman will do. Wink

    Blog: Watching movies by myself

Summary:  I'm not saying it's lonely to be a movie critic, but we often find ourselves seated alone in an empty theatre when we're watching new stuff. I know people who say they won't go see anything unless they have at least one other person to go with, but I've always enjoyed having the place to myself. No cartoons on racism

As you might imagine, the vast majority of the editorial cartoons available these days for publication through the syndicate which supplies cartoons to the Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens are addressing the situation in Ferguson, Mo., where the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white police officer has touched off a number of demonstrations -- some peaceful, but many not at all peaceful, with tear gas fired by police officers and gunshots fired by some protester. read more
