My question is: Where the 2 children home alone? A 12 YO is not mature enough to be in charge of an 8 YO.
WOW can't imagine what went wrong.

Now as far as Barrow County goes, I find it interesting that there are 2 papers in the county and neither felt this worthy of reporting! Sad!

posted @ Monday, April 8, 2013 - 06:58When you think of what other choices they could have made in regards to this child, leaving it on someone's door step was the right and proper choice. Don't get me wrong, I don't advocate dumping unwanted children but at least they had the presents of mind to drop her off where she could be easily/readily found.

I'll give you that one. I DO live live in an area that is just full of GOB types and they all had their Broun signs out.

And yet he was re-elected. Fascinates me that people will [filtered word]/complain/moan/blog about their elected officials being incompetent and yet, they continue to re-elect them and wonder why things don't change!
posted @ Sunday, March 31, 2013 - 11:31Be interesting to see if he actually shows up. He sent one of his lackeys to all the forums when he was running for re-election because he had better things to do than "met and greet" his supporters.
fitit: Don't worry at least 1 of his haters will be there to protest!
posted @ Sunday, March 31, 2013 - 08:21WOW -- didn't know Gainesville HAD a symphony orchestra. Maybe if they had done a better job of advertising it, more people would have supported it, rather than make that long drive into Atlanta!

posted @ Tuesday, March 26, 2013 - 20:58A farmers cooperative that shares equipment is the first step to bypassing the barriers young farmers face when first planting.
As a beginning female farmer, it's hard to get the old multi-generational farmers to take you serious. It's hard to get the USDA to take you serious.
So if Mr.Nygren can overcome that barrier, that would be awesome!
I love the idea of community gardens. It's amazing how much you can grown on 1/4 acre.

posted @ Sunday, March 3, 2013 - 09:32@proftom: My Husband works for one of those high tech companies that hire from abroad. And you are 200% correct about them wanting cheap labor. I can't count the times, I've heard him say, you can hire 10 for the price of 1 American. He also complains about how they train them and then they jump ship and go work for someone else. It's still cheaper to train a foreign national and have them leave after a few months then it is to hire an American.

Yep, we don't need gun control. Just give all the crazies guns. Oh wait, we already do. With present and past family members, and friends in law enforcement, I want to see laws changed so crazies aren't as well armed or better armed than the cops!
Don't mind having a hand gun for protection or a rifle for hunting.

I kind-of still think that's the case, BUT when given the opportunity for some excitement, and a chance to dive further into the fantasy of being a young, bad ass, they took it.
