Richard Sherman says what he thinks people mean when they call someone a 'thug'

Once they collar these criminals we can call them "collared".

True, but the NYT won't tell you what's going on around here. They could care less about who's running for mayor of Oconee County, and we could care less about who's running for mayor of NYC.

I couldn't.

Bullying often belies underlying issues
John Frum - Why can't supposedly intelligent people discern the difference between what they interpret as "rudeness" and genuine bullying? I think people disconnected from reality suck, and have no problem telling them so. They may think that's rude, but that doesn't make me a bully, does it?
If so, then perhaps people need more bullying in their life to make them more responsible people who are able to interact and cope with reality as it is.
John, where you Frum?

Athens police identify suspects who robbed elderly good Samaritan
Oh-dear - So the police just took his word that he actually owned a gun? They didn't make him prove it by showing them a receipt or something? When I had a property crime the police said I didn't have a case because I first had to prove that I owned the item in the first place.
Maybe this gentleman looked honest.

Blog: Can we please fix the Oscars?

Summary:  Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Winter storm drama

Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved.
