@PatrickD: Ain't that the truth, sounds like small explosions when when they pop and break !

When I got my property years ago, I CUT DOWN every single pine tree that was close to my house ! Lived in Wilkes county at one time which is heavy in pines and you couldn't sleep at nite when a ice storm hit !

It's going to snow an inch or more, said Chicken Little....ergh never mind.

It's going to sleet, said Chicken Little....ergh never mind.

It's going to rain an inch or more, said Chicken Little....maybe.

It's going to do something, said Chicken Little.

Thank you, for that...uhhh...weather prediction, I think, so, maybe.......or not.

@TheBetterGeneration:

BTW, I never said which school system, you assumed Clarke County public schools.

@TheBetterGeneration: I went to Clarke County public schools for 13 years...so does that mean you failed a grade (TheBetterGeneration) ?

Just because you didn't see doesn't mean it can't happened. I have a witness !

@TheBetterGeneration: That bill, shepherded by the Athens delegation to the state Legislature, was spurred by the development of a mixed-use complex now under construction at Broad and Lumpkin streets in downtown Athens, diagonally across from the University of Georgia’s North Campus.

This is from article - so they already know where they want to implement this Bill if passed !

Do they drive over to the school and drink their beer? NO THEY DO NOT, you can't just use made up stories and call them "known facts".

Family member works at a school, does car rider duty, sees it ! Fact !

@yeti:Why is there even a barrier for churches? Respect....apparently lost with newer generations ! If you don't understand that ........

Do people drink their beer in the grocery store parking lot ? Yup, some pop one before hitting the road.

Do they drive over to the school and drink their beer? You can bet it has happened. Known fact that when kids are dropped off by parents, it has been seen that inside of vehicles has all kind of beer / liquor. Kids even had to pickup some up that fell out and put back in car !

"The bill is not actually changing the distance." But it will allow them to sell within 100 yards. Basically, just sounds a bill being passed sooo some developer can make more $$$ closer to schools / churches.

    Blog: Watching movies by myself

Summary:  I'm not saying it's lonely to be a movie critic, but we often find ourselves seated alone in an empty theatre when we're watching new stuff. I know people who say they won't go see anything unless they have at least one other person to go with, but I've always enjoyed having the place to myself. No cartoons on racism

As you might imagine, the vast majority of the editorial cartoons available these days for publication through the syndicate which supplies cartoons to the Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens are addressing the situation in Ferguson, Mo., where the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white police officer has touched off a number of demonstrations -- some peaceful, but many not at all peaceful, with tear gas fired by police officers and gunshots fired by some protester. read more
