@grove600: I have to reply to your message. Yes I am saddened by this. I don't agree with the bounty just because I am black. It is wrong and I do not support it!posted @ Tuesday, May 1, 2012 - 10:56
Once again.....I have better things to do then go back and forth with you all (Charlotte and Matt). If innocent people are dying because of a law...that is the loop hole. Matt I did not study law and do not know all the rules, but I do know that something is not right about the Martin case bottom line. You believe what you want and I can believe what I want. End of story...now BYE!posted @ Tuesday, May 1, 2012 - 10:15
@CharlotteLadyGardner: I would love to converse back and forth with you all day, but I have better things to do like work. You have a right to your opinion and I have a right to mine. We can leave this conversation here. Thanks and have a great day!posted @ Tuesday, May 1, 2012 - 09:58
@CharlotteLadyGardner: Yes mam! I am an educator and a graduate from the University of Georgia, Gainesville State College and Clarke Central. I mentor and advise youth in the area and have helped several students graduate high school and fill out applications for school regardless of the color of their skin. I have advised several youth to not use drugs or commit crimes and to work hard and get an education so they can provide for themselves. Charlotte...what have you done for the community besides post negative comments about it?posted @ Tuesday, May 1, 2012 - 09:55
@crash64: The stand your ground law...has some loop holes and needs to be removed. A new law that has no loop holes should be created...possibly a Self Defense Law.posted @ Tuesday, May 1, 2012 - 09:48
@jlscott: I have never done Meth or any other drug in my life. You are still a sad individual.posted @ Tuesday, May 1, 2012 - 09:25
@Watchman: So everyone black person that gets shot is a thug, thief or robber? Wow....so ignorant and sad!!!posted @ Tuesday, May 1, 2012 - 08:58
When did I say that you didn't have a right to stand up for your families safety or yourself?
Honey I am not a hypocrite! I am doing something very useful with my life! Trust and believe that! Just like you have the right to post your comment....I do as well! A 17-year-old is STILL a child!!! And we are not even going to bring the military into this because I disagree with a child being able to fight for your country, but not able to vote.
"A 17-year-old is at perfect liberty to join the military and go kill foreigners all day long. He is NOT a child." What does this have to do with anything? You are so ignorant!!!
Excuse you? I am not saddened for people standing up for what they feel is right. The racial comments posted on this site as well as yours only prove what Mr. Heard and Reverend Killian are stating. No EVERY white person is not racist and it has NEVER been the case. Sad to say that most of the comments on this site about Martin's case have been racist comments. It doesn't take a blind man to see that what happened here is not RIGHT! No we don't know ALL the details, but the information that we do know looks bad and looks racist. You should be very careful when call someone a low life because Reverend Killian is far from that. As for those who spoke of his family...you cannot control the actions of anyone but yourself. And Reverend Killian does not justify wrong doing no matter WHO IT IS!!!!
There was no need to protest. Jamie Hood is in prison where he belongs for the crime he committed. What is there to protest?
This is so sad. Out one side of your mouth you try to justify a 17 year old kid being killed and you don't know anything about the child calling him a thug. Then out the other side of your mouth you say wait for trial. Then you call Heard a racist? It really saddens me to be an Athenian and to hear the horrible and racist things people are saying on this site. It just goes to prove how racist people in Athens still are. Lord, I thought we had come a little further then this....but look at us now. SO SAD!!!!!posted @ Tuesday, May 1, 2012 - 08:30
@JackP32: It wasn't false information that I knew of...I stopped following the story. All I wanted is for Zimmerman to be arrested and for the judicial system to take a close eye at the evidence....cause after all aren't we all innocent until proven guilty. An arrest doesn't always mean you are guilty....its up to the court system to decipher that.posted @ Thursday, April 26, 2012 - 11:34
@imjustsayin2ya: There's no debate....the pictures of Zimmerman showed no evidence that he had been punched or that he had a gash in the back of his head....that is a fact. All I am saying is let's not compare every single case to the Martin case simply because of the race of the individual.posted @ Thursday, April 26, 2012 - 08:36
@Junius: No We don't know how this would go. If you are referring the the Treyvon Martin case, there are NO similarities. The suspect was unlawfully parked on someone's private property AND peeping through a window. Trevyon Martin was walking back to his Father's girlfriend's house with skittles and tea in hand and NOT peeping in windows. Some people are so ignorant and that is the reason horrible things like the Martin case happens. Please stop comparing every case to the Martin case. It is very different from anything else.posted @ Thursday, April 26, 2012 - 08:14
It's terribly funny how everyone wants to comment and support Zimmerman. Last time I checked, isn't a person innocent until proven guilty and have to appear in court. Everyone that is arrested is not necessarily guilty. They have to be proven guilty. With information provided by the police, Zimmerman should have been arrested, even if only for not following the dispatcher's orders. I am so sick of all of the comments involving politics and racism. Irregardless, Zimmerman should be arrested!!! I don't care what color he is...he is guilty of some criminal activity rather is be murder or not following the dispatcher's orders....point blank! End of story!!!
The main reason racism is being played as a factor is because Trayvon was black and the case has been handled all WRONG! If Trayvon had killed Zimmerman after Zimmerman followed him...I can guarantee he would be in jail right now!!! No stand you ground law would apply!!!!posted @ Wednesday, March 28, 2012 - 13:08
@BullJacket: How in the world is Chief Lumpkin the blame for this? There is burglaries in every county. People are going to break the law. I don't understand why it took several days for the police to be notified though.posted @ Wednesday, February 22, 2012 - 10:32
Whitney is the sole reason I began singing. I loved all of her music. She was such a gifted singer and the best that it will ever be. I am so saddened by her death. I just wish it were not true. I love forever remember her amazing voice. Some of my favorites are One moment in time, the greatest love of all, didnt' we almost have it all, how will I know, where do broken hearts go and most recently I look to you. How can we continue to let child molesters get a slap on the wrist. It is a incurable illness and they all need to be put in a facility for life whether it be jail or another institution so thay all children can be safe.posted @ Wednesday, December 21, 2011 - 09:43

@mcudab: Wow? How can you generalize such a large group of people I disagree. Every hip hop artist is not a sorry azz AND what does that have to do with Michael Vick. PLEASE PLEASE speak the truth or say nothing at all. This is just crazy and irrational. DeAndre needs to do the time for his crime and that is the end of that. Michael Vick definitely did his time, now people need to let it go!!!!!!!!!!!!!posted @ Wednesday, October 19, 2011 - 08:38

Summary: Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved. An officer reported he was driving the woman and infant to another home in Athens. read more
