Douglasville high school yearbook labels student a 'freak'

When the pages and pictures are organized and ready to send to the printers, there should be at least on person (whether it's a student or a volunteer) that gives it a final look to make sure everything is "dress-right-dress". That person should have caught the error before it was printed.

@Trip_McNeely: Doesn't matter where this happened. What matters is that Officer Cochran was able to prevent a suicide.

Teen identified as fatality in pursuit crash on I-85
snarkydude - @YoungSarge: I haven't seen many thugs named "Jim" recently. You can make excuses for this culture of failure if you wish. Trying to use political correctness to explain away a fact of life is useless.
We have created a culture of dependency in this country, which has resulted in a loss of self respect for those who are dependent, and also a loss of respect for others. What you see in the blotter is a manifestation of that lack of respect. I don't see upwardly mobile, successful people giving their children these whacked-out names.

Try Jenna or Lidsay (for instance).

Teen identified as fatality in pursuit crash on I-85
snarkydude - @ppensyl: there's a big book of un-pronounceable, un-spellable names on the coffee table in the waiting room at the welfare office.
...and....
There is a weird name decoder in the booking office at the jail. For instance: "Thanquarius" decoded, is "Pookie".
What is "Jim" decoded to?

Teen identified as fatality in pursuit crash on I-85
dudeintown67 - I wonder how far over the limit he was going when the cop first clocked him?
Spike strips were deployed, there was a collision with a cop car, followed by a horrific wreck that closed down I-85 for a couple hours. Now you have one kid dead, and another who had to be life-flighted to another state where he's in critical condition (probably ICU). This will undoubtobly lead to a costly trial and a lengthly incarceration.
Was this chase necessary? Was the car stolen? Were these kids convicted felons suspected of something other than speeding?
There needs to be some sort of protocol for calling the damn chase off and just nabbing the kid later.
I agree with you. Why not try to divert the traffic ahead of them (clear the roads) and let them just speed up I85 until they run out of gas? No need to be on there tail beacuse it's known that you can't outrun the radio nor the news choppers.

Macon man sentenced to life in fatal carjacking
gman129 -
I have been mad enough to want to kill someone who threatened me, but my mind refused to allow me to do it. I believe anyone who kills someone lacks this control element in their mind which makes them not kill. I agree with you, anyone who kills is a little nuts, so the crazy excuse is no excuse.
That coud be true but in certain situations (not this one), people kill for self preservation (but not in this case). So to say that "anyone who kills someone lacks this control element in their mind" is not a true statement.
