Emanuel County teen beaten near UGA
Athens_Rottweiler - Sounds to me like the drunk 17-year old was taking smack and had his mouth shut by a group of guys. I was 17 and drunk once. You feel like Chuck Norris crossed with the Incredible Hulk. Until someone knocks you unconscious.

You have no clue to life itself, much less what the whole story is here. I am this 17 year old's mother and I do not wish this on anyone.

@swhitney: maybe you are the stupid one for making comments when you don't know the whole story. He was standing my himself when he was jumped by 4 guys and beat, kicked and stomped in his. He was unconscious and bleeding. I am his mother and I hope and pray this never happens to your family.

@JackP32: He never told officers anything. He was unconscious and medical records state this as well as the 911 transcript. He was standing my himself when he was jumped by these guys and beat, kicked and stomped and left bleeding. I am his mother. This is an awful "hate crime".

@webbty80: Such idiots when you don't know the whole story. He was by himself in the parking lot when he was jumped by these 4 guys. The witnesses say he was just standing there when the guys got out and began to kick, hit and stomp his head. I don't wish this on anyone!!

I happen to be the mother of this 17 year old. Most of you don't know the whole story. My son was standing in a parking lot by himself when witnesses saw a group of guys in a red/burgundy Jeep Cherokee jump out and began to beat, kick and stomp my son's head. They left him unconscious and bleeding....left to die! Thank god for the 3 girls that have spoken to investigator giving him and us as well this information. AND thank god those girls tried to get those monsters to stop. They could have killed my son. If anyone else knows anything about this, please call the Athens-Clarke county PD and speak to investigator Richard Boyle. Thanks!!

    Blog: Watching movies by myself

Summary:  I'm not saying it's lonely to be a movie critic, but we often find ourselves seated alone in an empty theatre when we're watching new stuff. I know people who say they won't go see anything unless they have at least one other person to go with, but I've always enjoyed having the place to myself. No cartoons on racism

As you might imagine, the vast majority of the editorial cartoons available these days for publication through the syndicate which supplies cartoons to the Athens Banner-Herald/OnlineAthens are addressing the situation in Ferguson, Mo., where the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white police officer has touched off a number of demonstrations -- some peaceful, but many not at all peaceful, with tear gas fired by police officers and gunshots fired by some protester. read more
