Georgia Congressman wants to curb military surplus program following Ferguson protests

@As I See It:
And by PEACEFUL you mean the ones throwing the molotov cocktails or the ones looting businesses?

I can't speak for the Tea Party types, but I would imagine they would saying something like " See, this is the s**t we've been warning you big government, nanny state socialist about." or "Words written down on piece of paper mean nothing unless you have the means to defend their ideals."

How's that billy-club of Hope and Change feel upside your head?

Police: Men with guns face off in Valdosta store

@Ben Had your tombstone will read:

Here lies the body of Ben Had.
A simpleton, dolt, a bit of a dim lad.
Thought he’d be OK vs. a thug with an AK,
a Glock and 3 -30 round mags.

Love you how you slam all the folks who choose to carry as "armchair warriors" and then go all keyboard commando about sneaking up on an armed gunman. Yeah, whatever.

I don't carry because I am paranoid, it's akin having a life insurance policy I hope I never have to use. In my book it is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. That is the beauty of our Constitutional Republic, you have the right to choose whether or not to bear arms.

Target asks customers to leave firearms at home

Oh the irony...@Ben Had slams folks as armchair warriors and then goes all keyboard commando with a baseball bat (They call him Lamebo, the PC equality warrior). There's some liberal logic for you. What's next going to pull out your shotgun and fire some warning shots over their head?

To all the open carry idiots, please stop scaring people unnecessarily. As a gun owner and conceal carry permit holder I can tell you that the sheeple are freaked out enough already, and it gives 2nd Amendment supporters easy fodder when they can flash pictures of Billy Badass the neckbeard warrior carrying his AR-15 through Target.

Have and will continue to carry concealed in Target.

Oconee commission incumbent faces challenge by former commissioner

The current commissioner is often absent. When present, it is apparent to everyone in attendance that she is woefully unprepared. Couple that with the spearheading of a $2.5 million dollar Taj Mahal fire station in Farmington (Seriously WTF?) that serves the least populated portion of the county. Time to give someone else a chance.

US mayors to use nature to fight climate change

@Ben Had:
Don't choke on the smug just yet there Bennie. A couple hundred years ago, all the leading scientist assured us that the world was flat and the sun revolved around the earth. Forty years ago, we were still debating plate tectonics (static earth with fixed continents). Thirty years ago Henny Penny assured us we were in mortal danger from a looming ice age.

It seem a bit of skepticism is in order especially when there are widespread claims of suppression of evidence.

Tearful plea from victim's dad in deadly rampage

Wow somebody kills three people with a knife, uses a car as a deadly weapon and you still blame the gun and NOT the psychotic individual wielding it.

FYI California has some of, if not the most restrictive and comprehensive gun laws in the country yet some mad man still managed to do harm. Where there is a will, there is a way.

Bottom line there are EVIL people in the world, and we have the natural right to defend ourselves from these people. When every second counts, the police are only minutes away AND according to Warren v District of Colombia, they have "... no specific legal duty to provide protection to the individual..."

It is a sad day when anyone looses their life prematurely, my heart goes out to the families.

Bloomberg plans $50M gun control network

I would personally like to thank Barrack and Michael Bloomberg for their support of the NRA, the Second Amendment and gun manufacturers. Thanks to their demagoguery, the U.S. has more law abiding gun owners, the NRA saw an explosion in membership and gun prices have fallen to historic lows. Keep up the good work guys!!!!

After last weeks showdown in Nevada, I can't wait to see what happens when they try to go door to door trying to confiscate 'unregistered' firearms from those formally legal gun owners in New York.... Good luck with that. And the anti-gun dummies wonder why the Second Amendment is so important.

After all the Snowden revelations about Government spying, what will it take to kick off Civil War ver 2.0? I would bet graphic images of heavily armed government thugs kicking in the doors of law abiding citizens would do the trick.

Jackson County couple sentenced in federal tax evasion scheme

Silly peon's, somebody has to pay for Facebook's tax refund. How does a company that makes $1.1 BILLION in profit hasn't paid taxes in two years and then receives a $429 million refund? Remember it's those evil poor people to blame.
NOT ONE OF THE CROOKS THAT CRASHED THE ECONOMY IS IN JAIL. Biggest theft in history and they walked away laughing.

Rather than go after waste, fraud and abuse our government decides to go after military benefits? Really? That's pretty f-ing sleazy and BOTH of Georgia's Senators voted for the cuts. That shows you how much they support the troops.

Georgia-based owner of NY Stock Exchange aims to build public confidence

Yep, you got it. Tax,tax, tax, that's always the answer. Every problem is a nail when the only tool you've got is a hammer.

You could have suggested (among many options) cutting spending and living within our means, utilizing specie backed by physical reserves of gold and silver or any number of other options, but NO let's raise taxes.

Merde, the Gov would tax the air we breathe if they could. The already tax rainfall run off (see your Clarke Co. water bill for more details).

Just look at the $300+ BILLION health care website paid for with tax money, and they have the balls to use Affordable in the title.

Don't give them anymore money, starve the beast.

What do want? A cookie?

Yet another classic example of socialist cleptocrat advocating for the Free S**T Army. We were a constitutional republic until the lazy and inept figured out they could vote themselves bread and circuses. What we really need is amnesty for 10 million illegals so they can start voting themselves free s**t on our dime too. Either way we the taxpayers (what few of us are left) end up paying interest on borrowed money created out of thin air banked my NOTHING.

You do realize you're celebrating the increase of the National Debt, the increase in government spending, and the decrease in the value of our dollar? I am guessing probably not, but hey your side 'won' so golf for you and have another cookie.

Bear in mind that this is all Kabuki brought to you by the real owners of the country, The Federal Reserve Bank. They have long ago bought and paid for Congress and the President with monies created out of thin air.

The leftwing and rightwing are still part of the same corrupt political bird that keeps the sheep in line with the illusion of choice.

Protestors demonstrate outside Paul Broun's Athens office

Oh my goodness, the sky is falling, the sky is falling!!!!! What did we ever do before the Federal Reserve Bank hijacked our currency allowing idiot politicians to spend without consequence (either raise taxes or cut spending). Oh yeah, we were a prosperous, thriving nation. Big government programs are the cause of the problem, not the solution.

Don't be fooled folks, according to our government, perpetual debt slavery is the plan AND the solution.

Now the Affordable Care Act (Obummer Care) will create ANOTHER unaffordable government program that will accelerate the amount of fiat money created out of thin air by the Federal Reserve. Sadly, as the amount of currency in circulation increases, the value of the money decreases. Currently under Quantatative Easy Infinity, we are devaluing (stealing) $85 BILLION a month from the American Taxpayers. This hidden theft/tax is called inflation (at 6%-8% a year) and it is the mechanism whereby we rob directly from the people that can afford it the least.

History repeatedly illustrates that no economy based on fiat money has survived long. We are on borrowed time.

Again, this is all by design, politicians are just window dressing to perpetuate the illusion of choice. I reality, we have no real choice. The real owners of the country have long ago bought and paid for Congress and the President.

FWIW, were a Constitutional Republic, NOT a democracy, but the Free S**t Army has learned they can vote themselves bread and circuses so our days as a Republic are numbered.

As Fed chair, Yellen would face tough challenges

Nothing will EVER change until we abolish the eliminate the banking cabal that controls our country. These crooks allow politicians to spend without consequence while they print fiat money by the train load.

What they are doing is pumping $85 billion of worthless paper into our economy. Guess what? The value of our money falls proportionately while costs continue to rise. It's called inflation, but it is really a hidden tax (about 6%-8% a year). Think of the riots if our taxes went up every year by the same amount!!! That s**t wouldn't fly. It's the same thing, but we're paying that money to a banking cabal that creates 'money' out of thin air. They couldn't wait to get us off the gold and silver standard so they could print unlimited amounts of funny money without the physical limiting factor of having to have specie reserves equal to amount of paper in circulation.

The Federal Reserve Bank, a privately owned 'for profit' bank, the fiat currency it creates and fractional reserve banking is the biggest swindle and greatest threat to our Country.

Look to history, NOT ONE FIAT CURRENCY HAS EVER SURVIVED the test of time.
