Athens man cuts off woman's weave when detaining her in motel room

What chaps my a$$ is knowing that many, many of the women who wear weaves and fake hair are on public assistance, and yet are able to spend their money on fake hair instead of their food bills. Sick, sick society.

Athens sees a surge in teen street gang violence

If these marauding orcs weren't assured of their next meal and a shelter by our entitlement society, they would be putting their energy into survival, instead of destroying society. LESS CRADLE, MORE GRAVE. GNOME SAYIN'?

State regulators debate charging the poor for phones

Enough handouts to the "poor," already. It's maddening as hell to be behind someone in a grocery line who pays for top-of-the-line food items with an EBT card, while I have to economize and buy generic brands. America has become a sick, sick society, where 1/2 of the population works hard so the other half doesn't have to. It's just WRONG.

Brunswick woman says she's certain suspect shot her baby

@fishin4u:

You have exactly expressed my sentiments. Had this been a black baby killed by two white teens, Sharpton and J. Jackson would have tripped over themselves getting involved. And furthermore, why is there no mention of this murder by the major propaganda news networks the way they raised the roof over the Trayvon Martin case?

2nd suspect charged in delivery of drugs to dead Winder teen

Ick. Ick. To think that my children used to sit next to such trash in public school classrooms before we very wisely switched over to private schooling. No doubt, young Terry James is covered in tatoos, smokes, and was raised by a single mother and her 4th long-term boyfriend.

    Pop Addict: New music, summer tours and buying tickets

    There is a lot going on in the world of pop culture these days and I?ve been so busy that I haven?t had much time to write about it.  So how about we catch up? ?Arrested Development? is back! I admit, I was not a fan of this show while it was on network TV, but I watched it a year ago on Netflix and was hooked.  read more

    Rep. Regina Quick pulls no punches on Chamber scorecard

    Rep. Regina Quick, R-Athens, was one of two local delegates to score less than an "A+" in the Chamber of Commerce's annual legislative score card. She and I played phone tag Monday when I was reporting the story and I wasn't able to get her comments in a timely fashion. Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more
