@athenstransplant: I have family who was very close with this child, and yes he has passed. The family has posted on Chandler's facebook page that he passed this weekend. So sad for all parties involved, it was truly an accident that couldn't have been avoided from what I'm understanding from my family. Prayers going out for Chandler's family and friends. He was apparently a very well liked, loving young man.

I would feel just fine having my child, male or female left in the care of a gay or lesbian person. I know this because I have taken the time to get to know more than a few of each. I know that they are some of the most fun loving, carefree, and caring people that you will ever meet. Of course they, like any one of us, have issues in their life. I'd be willing to bet with anyone that if all of you who are saying how "icky" and wrong being gay is, got off your high horses and got to know a LGBT person that you would love them too and see that your ASSUMPTIONS about them and their lifestyle were completely wrong. You all know what assuming things does right... IT MAKES YOU AN ASS...

Are you an ARMC employee? If not, I'm sure that you probably shouldn't use them as an example related to a story like this. I'm also sure that they have policies in place that are far more efficient than call 911 IN THE MIDDLE OF A TOP RANKING MEDICAL FACILITY and wait for EMS to arrive. I'm also pretty sure that a hospital employee is not going to stand by and watch someone die.

I'm not a nurse or a doctor, but don't you take an oath that kinda says you have to help people in need...apparently that nurse in that ALF needs to go back and check the one she took as well as her humanity and her conscience. She lacks the latter two apparently.

Of course he won't...why would he change his current way of doing things. Maybe he sees the probation fees making more money for the county than keeping them in jail. Who cares about the citizens that these punks are terrorizing. And they'll keep terrorizing because they aren't being taught a lesson. It really makes absolutely no sense. I'm just wondering what it's going to take for him to open his eyes and see that his current punishment methods aren't working, and that maybe he should try something else. Maybe build a bigger jail and start keeping people in it.

Apparently they're too busy arresting shoplifters... Priorities are never in order in Clarke County...EVER!

Why would you leave four children in a home alone? I don't care how close the place you have to go is, putting those kids in the car or making them walk with you is always better than taking the chance that something like this might happen. If you can't handle the hassle or inconvenience of having to deal with taking them with you everywhere you go then you should have considered that before you kept having them.

If he'd have done this in Clarke County he would have been out by age 18 with probation... true story.

He's probably going to have to kill someone. Endangering people while he's comitting his crimes is obviously not enough to keep him behind bars. And when he does kill or cause serious injury to someone the judge who let him out should be charged with aiding and abetting, and accesory...because that's exactly what they are doing by letting people like this stay free.

Get well soon little man! Daily prayers for you recovery and for strength for your family. Hopefully this will be the last surgery and all will be able to return to as normal a life as possible. God knows this family deserves it. It's touching how many people follow his progress daily, and have come together to help this family. If only people could come together like this for more things than just tragedies. This world would be a much better place.
