Prince Avenue, 'a jewel,' and subject of planning look
Thomas Jefferson Snodgrass -
A hundred people out of 10,000, in a building that, despite the name on the sign, is hardly "UGA". Of course there's exceptions. If the point of the comment was simply to troll, it succeeded.
Oh, and if traffic on Prince Avenue is making you late and risking your job, then what other course do you suggest? Maybe there's a job in Oconee County...the movie theater will be hiring ushers soon.
I own property in several other counties, but I live and have to drive around in Clarke Co. smarta$$.But unlike someone such as yourself I have had many jobs that would be beneath someone like you and will never put a person down that works for what he or she has.I will probably get banned but you and several others on this site are nothing but arrogant self centered SOB'S!!!
Thomas Jefferson Snodgrass -
Oooh, mommy! The big man frightens me!

Stay off of Prince Avenue. It's clogged, it makes you late for work, you get reprimanded and fired. Take the bypass instead - that's what it's for. Broad is reached from the commuter lot at exit 8. Milledge from exit 7.
How much simpler could it be? Unless you like traffic and stop-and-go progress?
If you think you can get to the Uga building on Milledge between Hancock and Broad St by coming off the bypass at 441 quicker than coming down Prince to Milledge I would love to have some of what you're smoking!!

You mean thousands like you and Curls, who ignore more efficient and appropriate routes?
That makes me want to put speed bumps down, so you will be even further inconvenienced.
I have lived and worked in Athens for over fifty years and could probably lose your [filtered word] on some of these streets.Curls never said where she worked for the UGA but they have offices all over town.Just how would you suggest someone who is driving in on 129 get to Milledge Ave or Broad St.??? Atlanta tax commissioner's SUV costs taxpayers $39,000
more tea sir - Fulton County Commissioner Tom Lowe, who represents a portion of north Fulton County, defended Ferdinand, saying he makes more money for the county that anyone else. Lowe said he doesn't care whether the car is "a go-kart or a Cadillac."
Our government is broken at every level.

David Ragan steals last-lap victory at Talladega
mpd0.59 - Danica was really po'ed at the end. She had worked her way from the back of the pack and was looking at a top ten/twelve finish, when the Stenhouse crash took her out too.

If They would put Johanna Long or just about anybody else other than it's always someone elses fault in that car maybe they wouldn't be in 27th place in the standings. And if she is in the top 10 it's a fluke!!!

Two men wounded in "negligent" shootings in Oconee County
swhitney - .
We need mandatory safety classes for anyone buying a gun for both the buyer's safety, and the safety of anyone near them. You have to prove you know how to drive and that you know the rules of the road before you can get a driver's license, seems like common sense that owning a gun should require similar training. I know the knee-jerk second amendment pundits will neg me, but I'm talking common sense and safety for both the gun owner and innocent people in their households.
.
Speaking of drivers licenses, we also need testing for these geezers still driving in their 70's and up.I was out at the GSP the other day,and some of these folks don't need to be driving a scooter on the sidewalk or in a store much less getting a new license. But guess what? They vote so this is hands off for our elected officials so they can keep their jobs. Angry Sick

Rep. Regina Quick pulls no punches on Chamber scorecard

Rep. Regina Quick, R-Athens, was one of two local delegates to score less than an "A+" in the Chamber of Commerce's annual legislative score card. She and I played phone tag Monday when I was reporting the story and I wasn't able to get her comments in a timely fashion. Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more

UPDATED: Draft language of so-called curfew ordinance

The committee opted Tuesday night to put off deciding on the ordinance until, at the earliest, its next meeting. Of note: The Athens-Clarke County attorney highlighted that the proposed times are, in essence, placeholders for the commission to change or keep as it pleases.   Full text of the Use of Public Right-of-Ways ordinance draft is below. read more
