Intoxicated man plows car into UGA's historic North Campus fence

Was he just "ghost riding" like this idiot in a similar story?

If he had told them he was just "ghost riding" and it was just a harmless prank, the cops would have let him go.

Motorist arrested for ghost-riding in downtown Athens
Spudgun2020 - @shjackson: She is a real victim of a crime. Not some imaginary victim of a childish stunt. If you think the potential for harming someone is a crime consider that you could EASILY run over a neighbor backing out of your driveway..
Wow. Spudgun sticking up for the drunk drivers. Ugh. Makes me think everyone is right, this guy doesn't think there's anything wrong with drinking and driving and, yeah, he SHOULD get a dui charge. + 1 here. He thinks drinking and driving and almost running down a crowd on the sidewalk is a childish stunt? Wow. Hell yeah....Charge the guy.

Motorist arrested for ghost-riding in downtown Athens
MotherBear - The sad thing is that his townie friends are all making a townie hero of him right now. It's embarrassing, if you ask me.
Not really. Only the most serious losers find this amusing. Ugh. Someone could have easily been maimed or killed.

"townie hero?" Hardly. More like "Clownie Zero."

Alabama lineman will not be disciplined by SEC for hit on UGA's Murray

Rules to protect QB's are just that: to protect the QB when he is QB with the ball. In the play in question, the QB was no longer a QB, Alabama had the ball. At that point, the QB ran into the direction of the ball and action on the field and was no longer a QB. At that point, he was a blocker. And he got blocked all right. CREAMED! Legal play, legal hit. Refs and SEC review officials got it exactly right.
SarahFlo - What 3 homely looking ugly morons. With stupid looks and stupid brains to match, guess you can't even get a date on Friday night with some pretty girls like the rest of the guys, so you have to go boff each other on the ball field at night.
Ugly? Yes. Stupid? Oh, my...absolutely no doubt! Ugly and dumb as they are, though, I'm sure they will be getting some lovely "dates" in the jail...whether they want one or not! Wink

Watkinsville? Is that even a town? lol Watkinsville wants so bad to be like Athens. Not happening. Watkinsville is a combination of dumb rednecks mixed with suburban clones watched over by fat, good ole boy red-faced developers. Watkinsville sucks.

Prof charged with prostitution will retire -- next year
zillybong - Keeping him/her around is a good idea. He/she can use his/her prostitute skills, plus any additional skills he/she picked up while doing that jail time, to service the football team for the next year or so.
That's a WIN, WIN!

Man injured in collision with 18-wheeler on the Athens Perimeter

I believe the minimum speed limit on the perimeter is 40mph. Hate seeing people with cars with problems trying to drive just to save a few dollars on a tow. If your car is stalling it is not safe to drive and you should not be on the road. He should have pulled his car all the way off the road and called a tow truck. He's lucky to be alive. And lucky he didn't get anyone killed.

Rep. Regina Quick pulls no punches on Chamber scorecard

Rep. Regina Quick, R-Athens, was one of two local delegates to score less than an "A+" in the Chamber of Commerce's annual legislative score card. Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more
