posted @ Tuesday, May 14, 2013 - 23:31The taxpayers of AthensClarke county and native residents are sick of crowds and the criminal element coming from all over hells half acre and overcrowding our town . It is a disgrace that tax paying citizen's money is handed out for this Bull [filtered word]. Tent city, home invasions/break ins, homeless population, kids not graduating from HS, pregnant 14 yr. old kids, domestic violence, car break ins, did you numb skull commissioners forget all that ?? Correcting this counties downfalls and making things better for the citizens that pay your salaries should be first and foremost . All this County is about is GREED and money making. Y'all suck.
posted @ Tuesday, May 14, 2013 - 23:25Why does Athens/Clarke want to attract tourism? It stinks when every smelly overpriced hotel/motel is booked full , when local residents need a few rooms for a family wedding/reunion/funeral and can't get reservations for their relatives b/c of some kind of big BS "event" in Athens. Y' all want to pretend like you are AtL. , well welcome to the big time.. You all have all the crime and criminal elements gravitating here in UGA Athens. Too bad, the so called leaders of this county could not see past their collective a holes and put the tax payers money toward a hybrid bus system, or sidewalks. GReed wins out and gets our tax money once again.
gman129 - Some of the negative comments about the arrest of these thugs must not realize what they were doing is criminal. Why do you make excuses for their criminal behavior?
Because the arrested were not wall street investment crooks, or bank president thugs. And, in the mean time, 20 homes were broken into, muggings on the street, rapes, murders and real bad crimes were going down while the " authorities" were launching their time/money wasting investigation. BS

posted @ Tuesday, May 14, 2013 - 22:54Thanks to the likes of role models like miley cyrus , parents have to deal and cope with sexually active teenagers( come on ,14 year olds doing it? ) hey, it's okay, sex sells on tv./internet. Also, there is plenty of other social media that 9 yrs. old or younger have access to.
Caretakers and parents of children: Wake the F up and make your kids learn about responsibility, rules, and correct moral behavior. Or, stop making kids yourself if you are going to ignore them while you are off pursuing the "american dream", or nightmare.
Sadly, some men never master the art of crawling, as in crawling on their hands and knees to apologize for screwing another woman who is most likely a disease ridden stinky HO. LOL

So what if he had sex with some skanky stinky ho ? prostitution only makes victims out of the disease ridden participants. He does not have to get 10 yrs. in a "real" prison, because he is already in one.

Apparently, so will under cover cops too. Under cover says it all.
Ironic. With all those millions of $$$ going to hospitals and doctor resident training, unfortunately, there won't be any patients for them to treat. Many baby boomers have worked like dogs all their lives, only to be turned down by Gov. beneficiary programs that they deserve and are entitled to. Georgia is so BACKWARD as are the other Red States. People making at or under the Federal Sustainable Income limits should be getting paid Medicare (all parts). No, our idiotic Gov pads the pockets of hospitals, and training. The medical system is so messed up thanks to corporate GREED. Really 3.3 MILLION Dollars??? When people of this state are starving and in need of medical care.
posted @ Tuesday, May 14, 2013 - 22:19Hooray. Just what we need some "doctors" that are fresh/alert/marcus welby types. Ahh. Some of that grant money needs to go to hospital employee training on how to WASH their hands, don't misread the doctors' prescriptions, etc. Stop being the death squads in medical facilities.

posted @ Tuesday, May 14, 2013 - 22:07Hell yeah the entire Court system is on the skids. Why is that ?
The man in charge thinks it is a GOOD thing to criminalize everything a citizen does b/c they don't "like" said citizen's behavior. Thought crimes are being over zealously prosecuted every day in every state of our Country. The United States Bill of Rights, and US Constitution might as well be used for toilet paper. Corporation Prisons (for profit), are a disgrace to our freedom and should be abolished.
What teen wanted to follow in his bro's footsteps ? The 17 yr. old suspect or Keyes? Got it, after reading this story over again b/c it was poorly written.

Rep. Regina Quick, R-Athens, was one of two local delegates to score less than an "A+" in the Chamber of Commerce's annual legislative score card. She and I played phone tag Monday when I was reporting the story and I wasn't able to get her comments in a timely fashion. Instead, she sent over this statement Wednesday morning and she did not mince her words. (Links and italicized portions are my own; otherwise, it's as she wrote it.) Dear Friends: read more

The committee opted Tuesday night to put off deciding on the ordinance until, at the earliest, its next meeting. Of note: The Athens-Clarke County attorney highlighted that the proposed times are, in essence, placeholders for the commission to change or keep as it pleases.
