Body of missing Georgia woman found in car in creek

@OCCountry,
not to mention the story last week about the two High School girls whose car was found upside down in a pond that went missing, I think, in the early 70's, after the water receded. I may be wrong, but I think I read that one of the girl's Dad passed a few days before they were found. Sad Sad

Former Jefferson, Elbert coach to be inducted into GACA Hall of Fame

Congratz Coach T. As a "zebra" who worked many of your games, I can attest that you're by far the classiest and most respected Coach whose games I ever worked. Well deserving!

American Meb Keflezighi wins Boston Marathon

@TMKvetch, You missed my "tongue-in-cheek" post. Why didn't the article say he was born in Ethopia, but later took an American citizenship? Sorry I peed in your popcorn today. Either way, congratz to Meb. And, BTW, I read your response the first time.

Motorcycle stolen during test drive

"According to the Athens-Clarke police report, the owner of the motorcycle met a man who expressed interest in buying the bike somewhere on Atlanta Highway."

"Met a man?" Did the guy just walk up? Someone drop him off? Good grief. At least get his drivers license or some other ID before he takes off. It's called COMMON SENSE

I hated to pull against the SEC, but having seen all SEC teams other than Missouri play in the Coliseum, without a doubt, Kentucky has the most obnoxious fans! I'll give them credit though, that they do follow their team. Ok KY fans, let the negs begin Big smile

    Blog: Can we please fix the Oscars?

    Summary:  Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Winter storm drama

    Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved. An officer reported he was driving the woman and infant to another home in Athens. read more
