TOP SECRET REPORT FROM UGA PRACTICE

November 28, 2012

Tip-The UGA football practices are closed to the public and the press, but I've found a super secret special viewing opportunity. I'll tell you what it is...

The UGA Buses that move people around the campus go down Lumpkin St. which is directly abutted by one end-zone of their practice field. The buses are double decker and from the top section you can see the field clearly...for about 30 seconds, at a bus stop.

So, I can report FIRSTHAND that Georgia did indeed practice. They're not totally sloughing off, that's a good sign for Bulldog fans!

BIGGER Bulldog Story- Coach Richt announced for the first time today that he would indeed burn QB Hutson Mason's redshirt season if Murray "suffered a season ending injury". In this situation, being out for the rest of the game could be considered a season ending injury. I wonder if having a few interceptions and fumbles and being down by 6 with 8 minutes to go, might not be a season ending injury? We shall see!

Blog: Can we please fix the Oscars?

Summary:  Fun facts: The first-ever Oscar ceremony, held in 1929, ran a brisk 15 minutes. By contrast, the longest was in 2002, clocking in at a monstrous 4 hours and change. As usual, there are things I loved about it and things I didn't. Rather than be snarky or complain, I'll offer a few suggestions on how the organizers might bring the show into the 21st century. Winter storm drama

Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to Pinewood Estates North on a 911 call concerning a heated domestic dispute. it reportedly was an argument over the lack of heat and food in a family's trailer and a woman was threatening to stab anyone who tried to take away her 7-month-old child. State patrol responded also, from their post nearby on U.S. Highway 29 North. The situation apparently was resolved. An officer reported he was driving the woman and infant to another home in Athens. read more
